Big Unit going in the hall as a Diamondback.
fair or foul?
Fair.
Mariners never gave him a chance to stay. they were going all in on ARod at the time and didn't offer him a contract he deserved. in the end the Mariners lost ARod to Texas anyway. the Seattle Nintendos always find a way to screw the pooch. when the fossil CEO died i was hoping for some changes but their budget never grew despite the projected increase in revenue of new TV deal. signing Cano for that long term of a deal is just as idiotic as the Mets signing Beltran after he posted 1.500 OPS with 8 HRs in just two series with the Astros for that 120 million dollar deal which at the time was one of the biggest ever for an outfielder. at least Cano's deal breaks down to 24 million per year, which is actually a smaller contract if you adjust for inflation than the latter half of Beltran's Met's deal, getting paid just about 20 per season when W was leaving the white house.
