His numbers will come normalize in that park with that defense.

Not super impressive but I doubt he'll suck like last year again.

Don't all of those guys, like, not play baseball?

Poor attempt at a pithy comment.

This is a fun game. Steph Curry makes more money than the President of the United States. Adrian Peterson makes more money than all Doctors.

Comparing salaries between different sports/jobs is dumb.

Tweet looks like it was to be enjoyed….not over analyzed.

From MLBTR:
Samardzija projects to be comparable to Jordan Zimmermann, writes Dave Cameron of FanGraphs. Given that Zimmermann signed for an average of $4MM more per season, the Giants received solid value relative to the market. Samardzija is a challenging pitcher to project, leading to a wide range of conceivable outcomes.

Didn't want to give up a pick for him.

I would assume it's 3 years maybe with a 4th option year. The M's weren't really willing to go beyond 2 years at his age. Hell of a pitcher though when healthy. Edit: 3 Years according to Heyman.

3 years is fine. Old but doesnt have any significant injuries/ surgeries as far as I can tell unless I missed something.
Missed time last year with a lat injury. Came back and threw a no hitter.

Dodgers seem intent on making Iwakuma our #3 as every rumor has us seeking Jose Fernandez of the Marlins.

Oh and Aroldis Chapman will wear Dodger Blue next year.
Barring injury or the sports gods turning on us, the 8th and 9th are covered for Blue.

3/45 is market value. Good signing. Bargain, if he stays healthy. He has had a few nagging injuries over the years, but when he is completely healthy, he is a legit #2 and an Ace on most clubs. Great control. Doesn't walk people. Dodger fans are going to love the guy. Was hoping he would stay with the M's. :(

So we don't get O'Day or Chapman. Are we not going to improve at all? Looking like a lost season already in D.C.

Jayson Stark ✔@jaysonst
Not sure what to make of this. But Reds telling teams they haven't yet agreed to trade Aroldis Chapman to LA. I don't think Dodgers agree
2:31 PM - 7 Dec 2015

Looks like you still got a shot at Chapman

dodgers scooping kuma was a good move

a jansen-chapman setup-closer combo would be truly scary but would require good bullpen management and decision making which no one has a clue of how good roberts is at

my guess is the holdup is that reds want one of seager or urias and dodgers dont want to give either up

lol, your guess is wrong. Respectfully fam.
Reds were never getting those guys with only 1 year left on Aroldis' deal.

Peep that link above though.
that could be it.

So, there's apparently a mystery team in the Jose Fernandez sweepstakes and lots of people are saying it's Houston.

The Yankees would have to give up Aaron Judge to get Jose, which I wouldn't be too upset with after he struggled down the stretch in Triple-A last season, but other than him there aren't a lot of worthwhile chips left for the Marlins to snag.

I'm also in the camp that believes that the Yanks need Jose more than Jose needs them (purely from a money perspective). And, while they need a deeper staff more than anything right now, I'm really hoping they add bats sooner than later. Losing Chris Young to Boston shouldn't be as big of a hit as it is.

Also, Quake... Would you like Andrew Miller if the Chapman deal completely falls through?

Like Ken Giles and Jake McGee a little more.
I thought you guys were asking for an arm and a leg for Miller which makes him unattractive to me.
