Milestone Thread

Post#1 » by SportsWorld » Mon Jun 25, 2007 10:48 pm

Frank Thomas has 499 career home runs.
Also Thome and Manny are both 19 away from the 500 HR club.
While A-Rod is 8 away from that 500 HR.
Sheffield is 28 away from the 500 Home Run Club
Craig Biggio has 2,996 hits
and Ken Griffey Jr. is about 15 from 600.
Oh and Barry Bonds has 749 home runs.

Discuss the milestone chases here.

With his swipe last night David Ortiz has six career stolen bases, only 1401 away from being the career leader in stolen bases.

Roger Clemens is going for win #350 tonight vs. Baltimore.

He would be the first pitcher since Warren Spahn in 1963 to win 350 games, and The Rocket would only be the 8th pitcher in the club.

I think that's a pretty big milestone.

More Biggio stuff:

-Needs 14 HRs to become the 7th member of the 300-300 club (HRs and SBs)

-3 hits and 14 HRs to become the 2nd member of the 300-300-3000 club (Willie Mays is the only other member)

-Needs 5 more HBPs to break the all-time record held by Hughie Jennings (287 set in 1904)

Let me guess, my good friend Michael Barrett let David Ortiz steal a base?

Ryan Howard hit HR # 100 tonight. He's now the fastest ever to the milestone as he did it in 325 games.

Barry Bonds is 70 games away from 3000 games played. He's also just 108 from 6000 total bases. 5 doubles away from 600. 35 RBI away from 2000. He just passed 2500 walks. 105 runs away from the all-time record.

Pedro is 2 strikeouts from 3000.

Jim Thome is 45 strikeouts from 2000.

Biggio is two singles away from 2000. 1 extra base hit away from 1000.

Frank Thomas is 12 **** of the all-time sac fly record.

There are zero active 3000-hit players.
