The Bears are an offensive based team now. Never thought I'd say that but their D is pretty terrible.

They have the potential and personnel to be top half.. but after the first couple preseason games it doesn't look too great.

Oh well, they'll be in the playoffs if they aren't historically bad like last season. They need to be better than average for them to be a real contender though.

Flags on every...single...****...play.
We watched the tragedy unfold. We did as we were told, we bought and sold. It was the greatest show on Earth...but then it was over.

Baker and Blalock looked like they were unaware of Clowney's intentions on both of those plays. I swear Clowney was behind Baker before Baker even moved. Clowney is going to have to work a little harder against other teams, but his speed is impressive. Poor Smith had nowhere to go.

Bad night for the Falcons. Poor play across the board. Only bright side is how awesome Freeman has looked in both games.

And holy **** the flags. People always say you can throw a flag on every play and the refs are proving it to be true.

The flags are everywhere but like 98% of them are correct calls. They've moved all the offensive line holds to the defensive backfield.

Something else to remember--there has been a pretty significant turnover amongst officials in the last 18 months. Lots of the better referees and crew are gone, yet Jeff Triplette and his ilk remain. Triplette might be worse at his job than any employed person in any athletic endeavor in this country.

Ryan Shazier is gonna be a beast. Perfect spot for him in PIT, where they have DL that can keep him clean. My pick for DROY. He's a faster Luke Kuechly.

if we're calling every single thing by the book then perhaps, defensive holdings are almost always weak as f*ck though, and i think it's horsesh*t that a 5 yard penalty is an automatic 1st down. your statement just says that the league wants even more scoring than before if they're going away from offensive holdings to more db holdings

It is going to take Cam and Benjamin awhile to get the timing down.

First team offense only played on the opening drive and we're missing a number of our starters on defense. I think the only thing that I learned was that the Niners are in dire need of a competent backup. Gabbert and Josh Johnson have no business in this league.

True. But you can see the talent this kid has. He is going to be a good receiver.

Denver looked sharp.

I'm going to be about the only person who picks the Niners to miss the playoffs. Loads of injuries already, Harbaugh fatigue, shaky corners, don't trust the receivers or Kap to some extent. Still a lot of talent on both sides but I think they stumble a bit.

That wouldn't shock me. They have talent but every year there is that one team that we all expect to do well that completely tanks. Last year it was Houston and Atlanta. Year before New Orleans. Happens every year.

Also have to factor in that division. All four teams are tough.

Anyways...is it sad that I'm actually considering making the trek out to FedEx Field tonight to watch Johnny Football?

Even my father(who compares the NFL to Christmas) is getting very angry at the penalties. They've constantly been changing rules over the years. In many instances there is no reason for it. You risk alienating your fan base if you do it often enough, and this is one instance where they may. You can't blame the fans if they leave.

I don't like the niners, but I would be very surprised if they missed the playoffs.
