Should the Browns draft Wentz?

Post#1 » by atlantabbq99 » Mon Apr 18, 2016 11:35 am

Should the Browns draft Wentz or go after a defensive player like the Broncos have done and take a player like Ramsey, Bosa, Buckner, or even go OL with Tunsil ?

Browns might be able to get Cook or Lynch in the 2nd round, but is Wentz that much better than Cook or Lynch that he is just too good to pass up at #2?

Now that the Browns have RG knee, I think they trade down and take another QB later to aquire additional picks. I think the 49ers may a play for the #2 pick.

Griffin:
One very good season, two mediocre ones.
63.9 completion percentage in the NFL.
Running quarterback with injury concerns.

Wentz:
64.1 completion percentage in a small school.
Running quarterback with injury concerns.
Team went 8-0 when he was injured last season.

I'm completely clueless as to why anyone thinks he'll be better than Griffin. If Goff is there at 2 I take him. If not I'd trade down preferably with Dallas.

The Browns are fielding offers for the #2 pick, according to ESPN. I think it's a smart move to trade down and collect more picks. Lynch would still be a nice option for them in the late 1st/early 2nd round.

Looks like you got your wish. Albeit not Dallas' pick.

No. Elway to Denver back in the day, maybe.

Once every 33 years ain't bad. Eagles must figure it's due to work again.

It´s always a gamble to offer that amount of picks for the #2. Browns and Titans can´t do better though...

Time will tell if the Rams and Eagles have pulled the right trigger.

First of all its going to take a couple years to rebuild and clean up Chip Kelly's garbage. And if Wentz is not the guy and turns out to be a bust, add another 5 years of hell with all the picks they gave up for this kid.

The Eagles had an impressive offseason thus far with dumping most of Chip Kelly´s aquisitions, the only weird transaction was the big extension for Sam Bradford, especially the money guaranteed.
He isn´t the long term answer, so the Eagles had to decide between waiting for the upcoming FA (Tyrod Taylor?!) or going all-in with the Browns pick... Let´s hope they were right

They say Wentz won't be ready next season. The Eagles are as mediocre in quarterbacks as Cleveland is. If the Giants and Cowboys improve and the Eagles go 0-6 against their division it could be a very good pick. I expect the Browns to trade down in the second round as well. With even a mediocre draft they should finish a bit better than 0-16.

Hell no. I hope they suck as long as I am alive. The only impressive thing I've seen from the Egals is they still have an empty trophy case.

They gave up

2016 3rd
2016 4th
2017 1st
2018 2nd

Not really that much at the end of the day. They gave up more to get Jason Peters.

The Browns fortunes have just changed. Cleveland fans, its time to snap up those season tickets. Just as reggie bush resurected the saints franchise, and won them a championship. The Browns are now on their way to unprecedented success and victory. CAN YOU FEEL IT! The momentum is building, and now they finally have the missing piece theyve always been looking for. Victory is at hand!
