2016-2017 Predictions

Post#1 » by bwgood77 » Thu Jun 2, 2016 6:42 am

Thought I'd start this one in case anyone has early predictions. Should be interesting with all the changes and movement of players, particularly Chip Kelly in SF and Osweiler in Houston.

Now that Chip is in S.F, look for the 49ers to compete for the number one draft choice in 2017. Jaguars are my sleeper pick in AFC to make the playoffs and possibly win their division. Also liked what the Texans did in their draft. wouldn't be surprised to see both teams make playoffs barring injuries. I really like both K.C. and Oakland in the west. I feel a nose dive by the Broncos. Sancheeze makes me puke. Arizona has another good year, but as in the past, Carson Palmer can't breathe come playoff time and chokes away another playoff game.

Jags makes the playoffs.
Raiders will make the playoffs (BOLD)
Bucs will not make the playoffs but will have a helluva defense.
Suh will be the beast he was in Detroit, will be near the top of the sack board for Miami.
Dallas will sit atop of the NFC East
Buffalo will win AFC East

I like what the Jags have done, but I don't think they are quite a playoff team just yet.

I expect a bounce back from the Colts. Finally focused on pass protection in the draft. Hopefully it pays off.

Some bold individual player predictions:

1. Devonta Freeman's second half slump will continue into 2016, and he'll barely surpass 700 rushing yards.
2. Kelvin Benjamin will lead all wr's in touchdowns with 15.
3. Antonio Brown will break the single season record for receptions and yards by a sizable margin.
4. Chip Kelly will rejevunate Colin Kaepernick's career and get him back into the Pro Bowl.
5. Ezekiel Elliott will struggle all season long, and Alfred Morris will finish as the teams rushing leader.

If that's a jimmy Fallon reference, though....I like you regardless of your choice of who you root for

Kid I went to highschool was one, most likely to be love child of Justin timberlake and jimmy Fallon

when you get a chance, let me now how much you would like to bet on that. I'll bet you the Rams don't even make the playoffs. You lost pieces on defense and you have nobody on offense besides Gurley. Even if the Cardinals and Seattle lost half there players to injury, they still couldn't get by either one of them. But don't worry, as long as the Cardinals have Carson Palmer, they will never win a Super Bowl.

As an NFL purist and NFC guy, I would be extremely worried about the Minnesota Vikings this upcoming season.

The Rams getting a wildcard is very possible.
Lol at your saying that even if Cards were half injured.
Did you forget the Rams beat Seattle twice with no QB of their own?
And the split with the Cards.

Jags have been a little snake bitten in the early stages of the offseason for me to like them. Dallas is a pretty obvious pick and will be my pick to be this year's worst to first team. Elliot will do exactly what he was drafted to do and the rest of that division is pretty blah. Baltimore will get healthy and compete for a playoff spot after last year's mess. Dirtymike, I'll see your Raiders merely make the playoff prediction and raise you a division championship. With Rivers getting older and the Chargers just being terrible and unable to protect him, Derek Carr is now the best QB in the division. The Raiders have done nothing but make solid football moves that make sense. (did those words just come out of my mouth?) Denver falls a little flat. I think Cincy is a team that peaked and may have a hard time recovering emotionally from last year's loss in the playoffs. The Colts, even if Luck stays healthy will be pretty damn average and Pagano will be gone. Pats go 3-1 under Garrapolo. I don't care if I spelled his name right. Give them the divisional crown now.
