Michael Lombardi says he didn't like Caleb vs. Cal and has talked to some NFL people who don't think it's a lock that he's the #1 pick.

It looking like the bears will get the #1 pick and select Caleb Williams & Harrison jr & hopefully TE Brock bowers

If you're the Bears and you end up with #1 and another Top 5 pick, does any part of you consider passing on Caleb and taking Harrison Jr. + Fashanu or Bowers? You give Fields a real chance to show something with a new coaching staff and two stud pieces on offense. Worst case he still sucks, and you have a great situation to drop a new QB into in 2025.

Do the Bears have the Panthers pick in the ‘24 Draft? If they do the Bears might be better off drafting Marvin Jr and Drake Maye. Allow Fields to stay one more season as the starter (to rebuild his stock). Then start Maye in his second season.

No, the Panthers tried to give that to them instead of Moore, but they went with Moore instead.

That’s why I was asking. The mock drafts I see have the Panthers pick going to Chicago.

What are the chances the Giants trade up for the #1 pick to draft Williams? Bears pick #2 & #3 and take Marvin Jr and Maye. Then also have the Giants 1st pick in 2025. Get Sequan out of the deal and they could rebuild their entire offense in 2 seasons.

I dunno, it probably has to do more with the Bears or whoever owns the 1st pick than anything

We have a pretty active NFL thread on the Knicks board that's mostly Giants fans, and I think they'd be more in the camp of staying put, but you'd have to ask them.

Hoping Chicago can trade down the #1 to the #2, grab Maye, flip Fields for the #3 and a 2nd rounder or some assets and draft MHJ, then get the best tackle available with their own top #5. Doesn't seem too far removed but I can only hope our FO is competent for once.

Caleb is definitely not playing in the bowl game right? So that pretty much is a sign he's going into the draft. So much for threats that he might stay at USC.

Meanwhile MHJ is talking like he would stay so he would get another shot at Michigan? That's the dragon he wants to slay, not come into the NFL the first chance he gets? He probably is going to the NFL but if he stays another year at OSU, that seems pretty soft.

There is no way a top receiver prospect skips the draft. They are not protected like quarterbacks, their careers can be quite short.

Sure, but they also get paid in college now so there's not the same urgency to cash in.
