Although I see things got real quiet when Niners got to the goal line, I see lesson learned from Sunday about blowing your wad too early

Purdy, what a gun slinger

You know Lamar's neck swells up so bad come playoff time that he can't even breathe. Add that to his style of play and choking abilities, well, you know how it will end. I can see a team like Buffalo or Cleveland whipping their ass.

Yeah but it is bit difficult with 4am local kick off, still would have considered if the game mattered.

Surely Purdy made him remember his one and only love yesterday, it is like watching Dak back to back days

49ers have flaws just like any other team. Bengals exploited the 49ers weaknesses too.

As did Browns and Vikings.

The playoffs will be WIDE OPEN.

Purdy can’t handle the blitz. Still though - they will make the SB barring something unforeseen circumstance. They are light years better than an average team like Dallas

Purdy & SF are top of the league in YAC. Which is why when Darnold came in to the game there wasn't much of drop off in performance. Darnold would be putting up similar type of numbers if he was the starter. Plug & play essentially.

Most of the credit for their success should go to the HC first. Then to their best player, McCaffrey.

Lamar is most deserving. Simply because you can't replicate what he does.

I keep hearing this Darnold did what Purdy has, but looking at the box score 8/14, 1TD/1INT 5.8 ypa QB Rating 67.9.

That's nothing like Purdy's stats, dont know what the hoopla is about lol

You're right, he actually played better than Purdy last night.

Pretty much, takes a long time for human brain to grasp someone who doesnt have any elite traits can play like an elite quarterback. There were even people still thinking Brady was all Belichicks doing up until he left New England and won in Tampa. Mental side of quarterbacking is always disregarded by casuals.

By the way...

Lamar 224 passing yards + 52 rushing yards per game 19 TD/7 INT + 5 rushing TDs in 15 Games
Fields 195 passing yards+ 53 rushing yards per game 15TD/9 INT + 3 rushing TDs in 11 Games

If you are in the same stratosphere of a guy who might continue his career as a kick returner, it doesnt bode well.

In fields defense I think he has potential with a good coach/ franchise

I kinda want the eagles to take a swing at developing him in case hurts doesn’t progress well next season

The difference between fields and Lamar is one got drafted by the ravens and the other was by the bears

Yeah I was kidding with the kick returner stuff, but he isnt rated highly by most.

But I am with you he might be a solid, serviceable quarterback with the right team. I think his running his already better than Lamar, needs a team can cultivate his throwing mechanics enough to make his running count. A year with a team that already has a mobile quarterback might do him good.

Or there were strong rumors Shanahan wanted Fields instead of Lance all along, maybe he can convince Fields to come in as a back up to develop and play in some packages. At least I wish :)

What’s nuts about that is if they had drafted fields or Mac jones I’m not sure either would have been bad enough for the purdy thing to even happen

I think fields is a perfect pursuit for the eagles. He likely doesn’t start for the eagles barring injury but he’s someone I’d love to have if jalen got hurt.

Yeah people dont like to admit it but much of success in sports is falling ass backwards on the right players in the right time. I mean credit to him for seeing his potential and developing him, and he is a great defensive mind but Belichick probably would have been fired years ago if he didnt get lucky with Brady and Bledsoe injury.
