Top 10 Defense for 07

Post#1 » by UKF » Wed Apr 25, 2007 2:21 am

Who do you think the top 10 defensive teams will be for the upcoming season?

Of course you will have the Bears and the Ravens. Then you could have the Steelers but there were a bunch of moves made. Miami got Porter, which makes them a lot better and they already have Taylor and Thomas. The niners got Clements and are going to get a guy like Willis or Branch in the draft. Al Wilson left Denver...lots of stuff happened this offseason but what teams do you think will end up with the better defenses after what has happened during this offseason?

Ummmm Jacksonville will be up their no doubt, everyone seems to forget about us. The Jags had (I believe) the number 2 ranked defense last year and this was without Mike Peterson, Donovin Darius, Reggie Hayward, and Marcus Stroud. With those four all coming back to a defense with D. Smith, Clint Ingram, Senesenbaugh, Mathis, John Henderson, Paul Spicer, Brian Williams, Bobby McCray, and Rob Meier I don't seem them getting any worse. If this teams drafts a big time free safetly like Reggie Nelson then watch out.

I'm scared of Marcus Stroud and John Henderson, and what they do to our Interior O-Line every game...

As long as they're there, Jax will always have a top-10 Run Defense, IMO.

Denver also added Dre Bly, and I would assume will draft very defense-heavy.

Not really a sleeper IMO.

When you have dominant tackles everything else seems to fall into place.

How good could the Bears be if they lose Briggs but gain Landry. I think we could replace Briggs but the new guy won't produce as much.

Many teams improved there d greatly after todays draft. Im a happy niner fan after we drafted Willis with our 11th pick! Hopefully we can get a CB with our upcomng pick or maybe even a DT.

Jacksonville just added two good players to their defense in this draft. I think Jacksonville could very well be the number one ranked defense this year, they were ranked number two last year and that was without Darius, Mike Peterson, Stroud, and Hayward. Now they just added Reggie Nelson and Justin Durant.
DE- Hayward/Hawkins
DT- Stroud/Meier
DT- Henderson/McDaniels
DE- McCray/Spicer
OLB- D. Smith/Thomas
MLB- Peterson/Grieson
OLB- Ingram/Durant
CB- Mathis/Cousin
FS- Nelson/Sensenbaugh
SS- Darius/Sensenbaugh
CB- Williams/Starkes
That defense is full of studs and has good depth everywhere...

Anyone have any love for the Pack's D to be a contending 5-10?

49ers defintly out on the far away category. With them drafting Willis they are almost a lock for Top 10. They added Clements who could be the best CB in the NFL(besides Bailey). Lawsons a year older. They are going to have a strong defense

Amazing secondary but the front seven was only solid. I think that there defense is going to continue to make strides this year.

I dont think there line is good enough to really let them elevate there team.
