Would you trade Drummond for Anthony Davis?

Only because someone on the General Board suggested that the consensus of Piston's fans wouldn't do this. I'd like to believe that we aren't that homerish.

no way. Drummond is a true center and those dont come around that often. Also for all the people saying they were impressed by Davis's freak athleticism Drummond has more athleticism, bigger, stronger, longer, possibly faster. Possibly the best athlete in the NBA

For as good as Drummond has looked, he's played against mostly backups and still has some major flaws. Anthony Davis just such a sure thing and still fills our need...I just don't get it.

i wouldn't do it. i think while Davis floor is higher, drummonds ceiling is much higher. it has nothing with being a homer, it has everything to do with what makes sense. Dre may not be as offensively developed as Davis, but i'm willing to wait for him to develop

I voted no only because of the size factor. IMO Drummond has everything it takes to be just as good as Davis but he also has a huge size advantage. Im absolutely sick of our small ball lineups and a Drummond/Monroe front court is what I have been looking for every since we got the Moose. You can call me a homer but there were a lot of people that said Drummond rivaled Davis as far as potential goes, it was just that Drummond is a much bigger gamble and still is. I'm personally willing to take that gamble for the sake of having a major size advantage over almost every team in the league.

homerism runs deep, chalk up one more for the drestroyer.

might be kind of a lame nickname, but I think its about time we come up with one for him and thats the best I could do off the top of my head.

lol davis can change the game so much. forget drums "size" this new nba game doesnt care. gmoe and davis up front would probably one of the scariest in the leagues history. we know how good davis is and know he can only get better; drums believe it or not still has a high bust factor.

I dont understand what you find so homerish, you act as if davis is the second coming of shaq. The only thing davis has on dre is offense,ft shooting, but dre comes out on top in every other catergory, and dres offense isnt that bad let the kid get comfortable and play starter minutes and a few games befor we start comparing who is better.Dre just has a higher ceiling than davis and the flashes of what we have seen from him (when he gets of the bench) are great and I wouldnt trade drummond for davis not now or ever.If davis becomes better and drummond busts you can say I told you so.I know davis is on a **** team right now but when he had that game was he starting or coming off the bench, just wondering because I didnt catch that game ?

It doesn't come down to ceiling for me. It's as simple as Davis is a proven gamechanger...He's guaranteed to be a superstar. You simply don't pass up a guaranteed superstar for someone who could possibly maybe at some point become even better.

I love Dre, but it just isn't proper risk management...

You don't fill needs on lottery teams. You get the best players possible. I think Drummond is the better player, so no I wouldn't trade him for Davis. I wouldve taken Drummond #1 draft night, so not just basing my opinion on preseason. Like others said, he's just as talented/athletic/long as Davis and he's 6-11, 290lbs vs 6-10, 230lbs in Davis. C's always more valuable than PF too. Its like asking if you'd take KG over Shaq. Of course you wouldn't.

I love how people say Drummond has more potential. Why? Because he is bigger and more athletic? Basketball is about SO much more than that. There are things like hand eye coordination, fundamentals, IQ, toutch, mental demeanor and toughness, etc. Look at a guys like Tim Duncan or Jerry Rice in the nfl. The "big fundemental" is considered by many the greatest PF of all time and he is not a dominating physical specimen. He knows how to play basketball. He plays perfect positional defense and has a set of post moves that are nearly unguardable. Yes, Drummond can run faster, jump higher, and is stronger then Davis but I cannot think of ONE fundamental that Drummond does better than Davis. I watched a ton of both players in college and didnt miss a single summer league or preseason game that was on TV. Davis is going to be a stud and I hope Drummond can become one too, but there really isn't an argument about who is the better prospect.

idk how you can watch Drummond and say he doesn't have coordination, IQ, touch, toughness, or fundamentals.

You can't do this without coordination, touch, and IQ
