He's a guy that opens things up for others, their defense has still been very good they just need a spark offensively, he doesn't need to be James Harden. All of a sudden Stuckey and Miles aren't getting the other teams best wing defender, nobody will want to see them come playoff time.

Basketball history for you all..... Jordan wanted to come back, management wanted him to sit out the last month of the season to get a lottery pick (seven teams, even odds back then). Jordan was pissed. So they put Jordan on a minute restriction which eventually got the coach fired. The Bulls sneaked into the playoffs and Jordan scared the crap out of the Celtics (eventual champs) with a 63 point game.

I hate Jerebko right now. Freaking guy looked like Dirk out there tonight.

Looking darker. We're a game behind four teams tied for the last spot, and one of those is Indiana with George coming back. And we have like seven of our next eight on the road.

Saturday, February 28th. One game behind half the Eastern Conference. Tonight:

Pistons over Wizards
Hawks over Heat
Mavs over Nets

Ugh.

No mention of Drummond's failure to box out or defend Aumondson? Not sure how anyone could be blaming these losses on Monroe.

But yes, last nights loss may have sealed the deal for Detroit's playoff hopes. Hopefully we can regroup and steal some additional wins.

I so hate how the last 3 Pistins coaches have treated Jerebko. He's been the best forward on this team for the past 3 years. (if Monroe is a center). They gave Josh his minutes, gave Tolliver his minutes, did everything except play him and respect him
You need 2-way wings, 2-way shooting bigs, and you can't allow low iq players on the court. Assist/turnover ratio is crucial. Shooting point guards are icing on the cake IF they are plus defenders.
Weaver & Casey, govern yourselves accordingly!

This isn't Dre vs Moose discussion.

The past 2 games, moose has been absolutely owned by his defensive matchup and which in large part contributed to the loss. Whlie you want focus mainly on his offensive stats, the concern for moose has always been his defense. and it was a glaring hole these past 2 games. What makes it worst, is that it wasn't that he was incapable physcially of defending these guys, he just seemed to not konw what to do or wasn't paying attention

March 1st. Two games out. Lots of traffic in between.......12.7% chance of playoffs per Hollinger......

Today -

Golden State over Boston
Philly over Indiana
Orlando over Charlotte

Thought: Still ticked over the Knicks game.....

The Knicks go on to beat Toronto! We all knew it was going to be difficult to make the playoffs after that start. At the trade deadline SVG makes significant changes to the team, but some folks despair that there is a period of adjustment? Is it really reasonable to think this wouldn't happen? I love watching basketball, and the Pistons are my team. However it turns out, I'll be sorry to see the season end. Can't agree that we now have no chance, while at the same time acknowledging that the chances were never great.

7. Miami +0.5 (Next 5 vs Phoenix, vs LA Lakers, @ Washington, vs Sacramento, vs Boston)
8. Brooklyn 0.0 (Next 5 vs Golden State, vs Charlotte, vs Phoenix, vs Utah, vs New Orleans)
--------------
9. Indiana -0.5 (Next 5 vs Philly, vs New York, vs Chicago, @ New York, vs Orlando)
10. Charlotte -0.5 (Next 5 @ Orlando, vs LA Lakers, @ Brooklyn, vs Toronto, @ Detroit)
11. Boston -0.5 (Next 5 vs Golden State, @ Cleveland, vs Utah, @ New Orleans, @ Orlando)
12. Detroit -1.5 (Next 5 @ New Orleans, @ Houston, vs Charlotte, @ LA Lakers, @ Golden State)

Us and Boston probably have the two toughest 5 game stretches coming up, while Indiana has the easiest on paper. Indiana could be sitting in that 7th position before Paul George even gets back.

We should be more interested in getting a higher draft pick. We need one of Johnson, Oubre or Winslow. Or who knows most teams that are picking around 6-8 end up even winning the lottery most of the time. Do you know how much trade value a Okafor would have. Hell we could trade him for Jabari and another asset if we wanted to.

If we can win our next two on the road it really does make up for our previous two losses... right now its all about playing .500 ball until April to keep up within striking distance of a playoff berth. We really can't afford to fall more than about 2 or 2.5 games back as we can't count on going on a big win streak again to pull ourselves back into it.
