Don't remember the exact timing of Jerebko's achilles injury, but he played 80 games during the 2009-2010 season, missed all of the 2010-2011 season, and played 64 games during the 2011-2012 season.

Some people are better at rehab than others: this will be a test of Brandon Jennings' mental strength.

Off the top of my head Jerebko missed a season with the Achilles injury. Kobe missed 1 season as well. Same goes for Billups. If its Achilles tear then Jennings is out the season probably ready to go next season. Its usually a 6-9 month recovery not 1-2 years.

Hopefully someone else steps up if Jennings is out for a while.

If it's going to go into next season, we really need to consider Bynum coming back.

Bynum had a nice run and made a lot of money from this team. He has no business being on it now.
He's out of the league for a reason.

Wouldn't be surprised to see 15/4/8 from him the rest of the way.

 at people wanting Dinwiddie to start.

DJ is a joke, I understand people think he could thrive, but it's the same as it was with Jameer Nelson. He's a sub 6' guard that can't defend the position. When his shot is off (as it has been) he's terrible. He's Will Bynum out there, all HEROBALL, no team ball. He can't run this offense because he's not good enough. He doesn't setup teammates and the offense is horrible with him at PG. Time to end the experiment and get us a real PG (preferably one who can see over the dashboard without a booster seat.

Just wanted to add, At first I wasn't a big Brandon Jennings fan, I thought he was too cocky and arrogant for a guy that hadn't accomplished anything in this league. But this season since the departure of Idiot boy I have to say he's taken a leadership role on this team. He's a positive force, never been a fan of social media, but he is so supportive of the team and the guys seem to love him and thrive off his passion. I'm gonna miss watching him the rest of the year, hopefully we will rally around him in his time of need a bit. Hope the team plays "for him" a bit. I think we lost our chance at the PO's but I still like the team bonding that has occurred. He has seemed to learn to play his position much better and hopefully he uses the time watching and can grow from it without actually being on the court. Maybe he can gain a more cerebral approach to the position.

GET WELL SOON BJ,

Without "your guy" BJ the Pistons might be forced to pay Monroe the max to stay. Is it worth it?

So sitting out here in California without League Pass, I finally get to watch a Pistons game live. What a f--king game. We get destroyed by a team we are fighting to get into the playoffs with, and lose our super hot PG for the rest of this year and a good chunk of next year too. Couldn't get much worse than that.

I think that Augustin deserves a shot and everyone should take a step back and relax. Augustin has been very inconsistent this year but stepped up in this same situation last year and helped his team to the playoffs. I bet that SVG and co are planning on giving him an opportunity to do it over the next few weeks and if it is not going well they will make a deadline move. This is a bad situation but people don't need to start screaming tank right away.

I think its charitable to characterize Augustin's play as "inconsistent".

He has a rare good game. I'd say that's pretty consistent.

Augustin fit perfectly with the Bulls and their system. We've already seen he doesn't have that same magic with us in our system, so I don't see how his run with the Bulls is relevant.

Its tough not to be pessimistic at this point. Jennings was our best player during our recent upswing, and the player who saw BY FAR the largest change in productivity in the post-Smith era. Playoffs seemed really possible, if not downright likely before. Seems like we'll settle back into that 9-12th pick range again now.

In today's league where the PG position is filled with talented players nearly every single night, I don't have much confidence in DJ against them to be honest. He's best suited as a back up.

Who knows, maybe Dinwiddie is further along than we think...he did play 3 years in college after all.

If Jennings achilles is indeed torn, then we can say goodbye to the playoffs this year.

Im really hoping for the best.

At this point I think its fair to say that his achilles is torn.

If there was a serious chance of it not being I think we'd be getting different language from players and coaches right now. Jennings has talked about it being a chance for someone else to step up, Van Gundy has said he'll be out for the foreseeable future, Augustin says he's getting ready....

That's not the tune we'd be hearing if there was hope for Jennings coming back any time in the near future.

I would be very surprised if DJ did anything other that turning the ball over and thinking he's MVP D Rose just sucks. I like Dinwiddie but I don't think he can be anything more than a back up without elite speed ( from what I seen he doesn't have it) and he settles for jumpers a lot. It might be great for Drummond tho Dinwiddie loves to throw the lob and is pretty accurate he might get more post touches as well. Maybe KCP learns how to shoot and starts balling out who knows but I don't have much faith.
