No way you can simply go by the raw stats.
His shooting percentage is down, but he's been asked to actively work on his post game- not just tip-ins and dunks.
I don't have the time to make a big response- but I will say this; there are lies, and damn lies and then there is statistics.

What Mr. White says is true, but I'd add that I DID expect more development than this this year. He definitely improved his post game tremendously, but nothing else really looks better. He still makes a ton of mental defensive mistakes, he still can't shoot free throws, and he's playing fewer minutes. I realize that one is probably system-related, but I still don't like it.

I too expected him to take a greater leap after finishing out the season really strong last year, but take out the first 17 games or so of the season where we force feed him in the post a lot out, and his stats would be a lot better. The biggest improvement he's made is in his post hook, which has come a long way since he was a rookie.

Re: Andre Drummond 2013-2014 vs. Andre Drummond 2014-2015
honestly i'm more concerned with the lack of his development on the defensive end of the floor.
his potential on the defensive side of the ball is through the roof, it's a little disappointing that he hasn't progressed faster on that end. offensively i'm not worried about him at all, he'll progress fine but his mistakes on the defensive side of the ball are not easy ones to fix.

Yeah big difference. Last season he only attempted 48 hook shots compared to 142 already this season. Which he's connecting at a little over 42% on this season as we'll. he's no longer a strictly dunker like Deandre Jordan who has only attempted 12 hook shots this season. Now do you need a further explanation why he's not as high of a FG% player this season? And his steals will go down in a Van Gundy system. He doesn't like players playing the passing lanes and taking gambles for steals like we were used to see Dre doing.

He has added a pretty good hook shot this season, now next season hopefully he improves on defense.

You are right and wrong at the same time his shooting % has fallen off the boards overall before he shot over .810% from 0 > 3 ft. this year .693 but at the same time his shoot % on that shot has went from over .680% to .581% which is troublesome. His shooting from 3 > 10ft. has increase from .172% to .281% and his FG% has dropped from .379% to .332%. Beyond 10ft the numbers are not important.
Also his FGA have increased by 22% in 2.3 less minutes from 10.6 to 13.6 so he has not effectively utilized the extra touches.
On the positive side he rebounding has improved substantially about 10% , his BPG about 20% and APG 40% (still bad) when you reflect less minutes only his SPG has regressed.

His hook shot is just a prayer. Some go in... 55% don't.

If you have to ask if there is a difference in Dre, then you either haven't been watching games or don't understand what you are watching.
On offense, it's a HUGE change. He went from strictly a lob and putback guy to someone we regularly post up. He's still a work in progress on the block, but his footwork and mechanics are lightyears ahead of where he was last year.
On defense, he starting to play much bigger. He's stopped going for so many steals and is contesting more shots. Block stats are a little misleading because you look at 1.8 vs 1.5 and think that isn't a big improvement. In reality, that difference moves you from 13th in centers (average) to top 5. He's still making a bunch of stupid plays, but he's heading in the right direction.

this guy needs to bring back the James Edwards fade away. Some big guy needs to bring that back, he could always get a shot off.

Yup, that's the main difference. Earlier in the year when SVG tried to force him to use his post game Drummond failed miserably. That's no longer the case.
Also now he's got Jackson looking to throw him easy dunks all the time... Next year I expect his PPG to easily soar past 15... and if he wants to ever average 20+ he needs to bump his FT% to 50 (60 would be ideal).

I would like seeing Drummond face up more and just blow right past guys. Hes quicker and faster than virtually any center hes matched up against.

2014 or 2015 dre it doesnt matter. he cannot hit a free throw, his post game is non existent and PGs still drive to the lane with ease! oh and drummond is still a me first player. all he cares about is how good his highlights look and his brand. drummond is a great talent and has the tools to be the best C in the nba but dude needs to get his F'ing mind right ASAP.
