You got Baldwin going 10th but also have him in the polls. Assuming he's gone I'm going with Demetrius Jackson. I compare him a lot to Bledsoe cause of his size, strength and athleticism at 6'1. Seriously the little guy can dunk and catch lobs with ease. Can even easily dunk from a stand still off of two feet.

Crap my bad - who shall I replace him with? (You can change your vote)

I certainly hope the real teams make a couple of head-scratchers before 18, because this particular scenario has everyone I'm really interested in gone before #18. I don't want a PG, because rookie PGs pretty much always suck. I suppose we could draft one AND sign one, but I'd prefer just signing one and using this pick on a big. Problem is, all the bigs I want are gone.

Thon Maker would be the pick if he makes it to 18, if not i'd take a hard look at Malik Beasley

Diallo is going to be really good. My pick goes to him. Jackson will be better early, a borderline starter for a not great team or a good sixth man for a good team. Those are the only two people I would pick from that list at 18.

I like Brice Johnson in that scenario. A defensive big that can guard those stretch fours and fives while still having a short jumper and is a solid free throw shooter. Any rotation could use someone like him.

Deandre Bembry probably would be a option to replace him with. Or Damion Jones which is a 7 foot center from Vandy that I like and is generating some buzz.

I do really like Beasly but I'm reading he has some medical red flags. I think he's hurt right now and he has teams cautious about a rod in his leg.

Damion is a little higher on the boards I'm looking at so let's plug him in.

This is the least I've followed college ball/the draft in years, so I'll be looking to get my info here in the next couple weeks.

That being said, I voted Taurean Prince simply because his name is similar to Tayshaun Prince

It's actually a pretty decent draft for the later picks like where we are at. Doesn't really look like a star type of draft but not a big gap between 5-30 like most drafts. If your like us though just expecting on getting a solid backup there's some decent prospects.

For what it's worth this is pretty much the same scenario DraftExpress has for Detroit's pick in their mock that was updated today. The only exception is Valentine still being on the board instead of Jackson.

They have the Pistons taking Prince. He's a solid prospect, but would probably be the 4th small forward on the depth chart buried behind Morris, Johnson, and then the minutes that Harris gets there. That's a lot to overcome for now and the future. No thanks. Good thing it's still pretty early for the mock process.

That's good, kinda what I figured. Guess I paid more attention to the playoff hunt for a change, which was nice :)

Well, I guess I shouldn't say it doesn't make any sense. Prince is fully capable of playing small-ball power forward. He's just kind of in that same mold as Morris and Harris, which isn't really what the team needs any more of. I like him as a prospect and wouldn't be upset if the Pistons took him I'm just looking for additions to the roster that actually add something different. Of course he would probably be the best defender of the three... Yeah, I'm talking myself into him (again).

our two biggest needs are a backup PG and a PF/C-type player, one that can play alongside drummond and slide to center in small ball lineups.

i don't think there are any great PF/C-type prospects available, at least not better than the point guards available. damian jones and cheick diallo are pure centers, brice johnson has the body of a PF but his game is better suited to be a center so i think he'll have a but of a hard time adjusting. thon maker has such a weak base that i think he's a definite PF but needs to improve his skills a lot to actually play there.

prince isn't a bad prospect but i just don't see how he would get minutes with harris, morris and SJ playing his positions.

that leaves Tyler Ulis, Demetrius Jackson and Dejounte Murray. i think dejounte murray is a streetball player and i really wouldn't want us to draft him.

i'd be happy with either Ulis or Jackson irl, but for these purposes i think we should take jackson. he is another scorer off the bench and has some potential as a playmaker/defender. he also played off-ball his first two years in college and is actually a great catch-and-shoot shooter so i could definitely see him playing beside reggie which is something SVG has mentioned he would like to have.

i still have to look at most of the international prospects so i can't say if i'd want to take one of the ones available, just throwing that out there.

This scenario is garbage. I was really hoping Sabonis would be on the board.

Oh well, I'd go boom or bust with Thon Maker and hope for the best. At worst we get a "foul sponge", defensive/shot blocking backup center that's not a liability at the FT line, at best we get poor man's Serge Ibaka.

We can grab that backup PG in round 2.

damn just feel like i got kicked in the balls. That kid has that "it" factor in his game. He understands pace, angles and can get up but also get up quick.
