Grimes is the prize here people. Knicks probably wouldn't part with him, unless they dealt Bojan as well.

The two seconds are the sweetener.

Gross?

The Burks trade is very good.

The Bogey trade is confusing. I think more trades are on the horizon, there's a crapload of players on the roster currently.
We weren't getting any 1sts for these guys, be realistic.

You have to look at it as one trade. We got schooled.

.

Pistons fans, as usual, overvalue their own assets. This is two one dimensional older scoring guys, the Pistons were never getting a 1st out of this. The Hield trade today should have been an indication of what Bogey and Burks would return. Getting Grimes is better than I thought they'd get for either of these guys.

More importantly, they can move on from one dimensional guys like these and bring in more two way guys like Italian guy and Grimes. Guys that are younger, more well rounded, and can also shoot.

It’s like the 28th pick in a bad draft, so it depends on what 2nds they are.

And to be fair, Agbaji is like the Grimes here. It would be like us attaching Sasser to Bojan to get the 28th pick in a bad draft. No thanks.

The deal hinges on Grimes. Does he ball out for us? Then it’s a good deal. Give up 2 rentals for a long-term piece.

One thing is our defense should be a lot better overnight. Ivey / Cade / Ausar / Fontecchio / Duren / Sasser / Grimes / Stewart is a solid young core.

Tracking all this….

We traded: Knox, Procida, high 2nd rounder, Morris, Bogey, and Burks

We get back: Grimes, Fetteccio, and 3 2nd rounders (all worse than the 2nd we sent out)???

Again, nobody overvalues their own players like Pistons fans do. I'll just leave it at that...

Good trade. We traded a 34 yr old scorer and 32 yr old scorer on the worst team in the league for a 23 yr old up-and-coming guy who plays defense and can shoot the 3. In addition, we got two 2nds.

Good deal

It's pretty funny how many people toss around "we should trade xyz player for a first." Aging role players on the worst team in the NBA just don't have that kind of value. And certainly they don't have the value of one of our own picks with declining protections.

Two seconds for Burks

And Grimes for Bojan.

Amazing. Now the team has how many players adding in Flynn, diacino, Fournier and Grimes.

Got to be another trade incoming!

Grimes. HELL YES.

Yeah honestly it’s not bad.

It just went from amazing to fine IMO.

I would like to see the seconds though- if they’re decent it’s solid.

Burks and Bojan weren’t long term pieces. Sucks to see them go but it makes sense.

I get that people wanted the first back but that was never happening.
I am SUPER high on Grimes.

For those who don't know alot about him, he is a terror on defense, amd can hit insanely tough shots, amd is athletic.

He is primed for a breakout. I would have moved both Bojan/Burks for him. The two seconds, amd additional players are the cherry on top.

Grimes is 23 years old. Perfect fit!

Ivey
Grimes
Cade
Ausar
Duren

Grimes+Ausar is going to be amazing on defense. Wow!

Pumped! Hope you're right

I figured Burks would get two 2nds tops. Getting Grimes is a very nice surprise.

People complain for us to trade our vets for assets and then when we get assets including a good young 3+D guy, they complain. Complainers gonna complain I guess

BAM. There it is!

Grimes and Ausar are going to terrorize opposing teams together, and on a side note, he and Obi Toppin used to hookup for lobs all the time.

Grimes and Ausar are going to produce some KILLER highlights on defense, and offense.

Didn't LA offer us a 1st a couple seasons ago for Bojan? I'd rather have that distance 1st than this trade.

Last year grimes probably would have been worth a late 1st. We’ll see if he can get healthy and bounce back with a more consistent role here. Good thing is he’s locked up next year too, I think.

Could be the Pistons see more in him than they do in a late 1st in this draft, which is what they could maybe get in a best case scenario. Kinda like the Raptors trading a late 1st for Agbaji.
