Re: Free Agency
I'm sure Derozan wants to join a contender. Also, at his age, he's going to want the longest contract possible. Even if I signed here, we'd have to replace him the following year, and we can't grow together with so many players coming in (10-days, Joe Harris' etc).. We need to acquire someone like Mikal Bridges for keeps, to become part of the core.

Re: Free Agency
I wish Trey Murphy was a RFA this offseason and we could make a large enough offer to make NO pass.

Re: Free Agency
We've been linked to Tobias Harris more heavily recently but not sure how anyone can say that when we don't even know who the POBO will be yet.

I'm expecting Tobias, Monk and a trade

Re: Free Agency
Tobias kinda feels like Uncle Cliffy. He was 31 when we acquired him in '02. Not a long-term piece, but one that brings a lot of value to the current roster.MotownMadness wrote:Mr Peanut wrote:We've been linked to Tobias Harris more heavily recently but not sure how anyone can say that when we don't even know who the POBO will be yet.

Not thrilled about what he'll cost, but it is what is.
This wouldn't be my first choice, but in the realm of things that could realistically happen, I don't hate it.
Monk can be our Jon Berry. Let's gooo!

Yeah, Tobias isn't a world beater but he's a solid starter and provides the stretch PF we've been looking for. I think Sixers fans' main gripe with him is his production in relation to his contract. If we strike out on our other options and then get him for 25-30M/year then you'd take it.

If we have pick no1... trade with blazers 4 or 5 and 14
Pick 4/5 sheppard
Trade pick 14 with sasser and can we trade the rights for simone??? For trey murphy
2nd round dream...daron holmes
Sign pat beverley and harris
And trade with salary absorbing for the best defensive available big man....
Duren/Stewart/trade
Harris/trade/Holmes
Murphy /Thompson/Grimes
Sheppard /Ivey/Umude
Cade/Beverley/ undrafted PG like tyson walker

I always wanted a Pat Bev or TJ Mc type when they were younger, but I'm sure their play could rub off on other guys.

Isn't Weaver lifelong friends with Tobias Harris' father?

Re: Free Agency
Rumors pointing to us backing up the truck for a soon to be 32 year old Tobias. Been there done that 7 years ago no interest in doing it again. Harris has already made 250mill just on contract money in his career he should be trying to win a title not trying to squeeze every dollar he can get out of the market.
I'm still holding out hope we can get something done on the trade market. Gonna be a bummer if Troys been kicking the can for years and Harris is the big pickup for the offseason.

Re: Free Agency
People act like Harris is some scrub he’s a solid starting four that can stretch the floor a solid veteran that this team needs
Harris 3/90 deal
Monk 3/60 deal
Still over 10 mill in cap space
Top 5 pick
Resign Tek

KCP ,Tobias, and Drummond all FAs all on some fans and Troys radar. Rjax has a player option at only 5 mill we can scoop him too.
Hell we all want Monty gone. SVG could use another gig. Were back baby.

Harris is a great community dude as well, fits the Gores mindset that wins don't matter as long as doing good community things.
Weaver = Hinkie

Re: Free Agency
Tobias is probably the best we can hope for.
And that’s a bit sad. Don’t dislike the guy at all but he’s underwhelming and pushing 32. There’s a reason the Sixers are moving on. They know he’s not worth what he’ll cost.

I only agree to this if we also get Boban with Tobias

Hopefully Weaver has the guts to trade some youth. Thats about the only way for drastic improvement or failure but we gotta take a swing.
