After being burned lately drafting DE's in the mid/late 1st (James/Udeze) Minnesota is content with our young depth (robison/Edwards) and signing a vet DE this offseason.

Twice burned, sure (although I still have some hope for Udeze), but it's still the Vikes most pressing need, or at least tied with WR. I'd rather the Vikes reach on a DE or WR than reach on Philips.

Based on the vet DE's in FA I see them going for DE there rather than in the draft.

I dont see Phillips as a "reach" with the 17th pick.

I love McShay's draft stuff and usually agree but if the Jets can take Ellis at 6 and McFadden is off the board, they will.
