As a Niners fan Im definitely hoping that Luck enters. I know we've got no chance in hell that he falls to #7 without some sort of drug scandal (and even then I'm not sure he'd fall to us :) ) but his presence will at least give us a better shot at getting another QB taken after the teams that need a QB badly.

Just wondering, if the Niners BPA is a CB or a pass rusher-- two big time needs on our team-- who are some second or third round QB prospects that you think could be had by the Niners?

Also, what are the chances Carson Palmer gets dealt by the Bengals? What do you think a fair asking price would be?

Just want to say I appreciate all the work you do Icness. I look forward to your mock draft/rankings, etc. I'm starting to get real interested in evaluating amateur football players.

How does Robert Quinn project as a 3-4 OLB?

Keep an eye on WR Doug Baldwin in the Stanford-VT game.

GYBE wrote:Michael Floyd pretty much beat Miami himself in the first quarter. First he took a slant 30+ yards on 3rd and 15. Then he drew a 40 yard PI call to set up his own short TD catch on the next play. On the second drive he caught a 40 yard bomb with a great adjustment for another touchdown. It was 14-0 right away and Miami predictably unraveled.

Miami had a pretty impressive defense this year too.

It was just awesome. I hope he comes back to ND, or declares and the Falcons draft him 8-)

You got a ceiling for Andrew Luck in the NFL?

Andrew Luck just kicked the Panthers in the groin by deciding to stay at Stanford. Think they have to look at Fairley, Bowers or Green with the #1 pick. Ideally they trade it back 2-3 spots for extra picks and still get one of these 3. But losing out on Luck is a real downer for Jerry Richardson.

That sucks. I don't really think they can trade down either because nobody will want to pick number one if the player you can get at 5 is just as good as the guy you can get at 1.

I think Fairley becomes the first overall pick frontrunner now.

Mallett in, likely a 20-30 overall pick. The more I see the less I like him.
Julio Jones declaring today, likely 10-20 overall. Sounds right for him.
Blaine Gabbert is almost certainly the top QB now, but I don't think he goes top 3. Two months ago he wasn't a 2nd rounder in anybody's mind. Suspiciously like Jamarcus Russell even though they have nothing in common as quarterbacks.
Mark Ingram declared, borderline 1st/2nd rounder. I like him more than that.
JJ Watt in, 15-25 overall pick.
Marcell Dareus in, 5-20 overall pick. He's one to watch in workouts, could really help or hurt himself more than perhaps any non-QB in this draft.
Kyle Rudolph will be the first TE picked, probably in the 30-40 overall range
Torrey Smith in, 2nd/3rd rounder
Jonathan Baldwin wants to declare but reportedly doesn't like hearing from prospective agents that he's not a 1st rounder. The NFL advisory committee told him the same thing. Man vs. reality.
