Draft order is based on standings thru Week 7.

Quick notes:

-- This will be the last year for monster Top 10 contracts, and that means trades in that realm are almost completely unrealistic. Dream on, Maddenites...

Wow...is Cam Newton's stock really climbing that high as far as being a pro prospect?

Can Costanzo play LT in the NFL?

Is there much difference between Solder, Costanzo, Love, and Reynolds at all? Bears need a LT badly..

I am hoping Angelo finally bites the bullet and just goes

Round 1) Solder/Costanzo/Love
Round 2) Kris O’Dowd / Cannon / Mike Brewster (is he going to come out?)

I am tired of Kreutz getting shoved back on every play.

I still don't sleep at night knowing the Bears passed on Brandon Albert for Chris Williams. Who is now a guard. Just looked that Albert has only given up 2 sacks this year. He looks really good whenever I see him play.

I really think the Bills shouldn't take a QB 1st, mainly because they have SO many more problems than Ryan Fitzpatrick, who has played like a solid starter since being put in. But if they do take Luck who i know is supposed to be an amazing prospect, do you see the rest of the Bills draft being defense? Because they're defense is absolutely brutal, and thats where i think they should go with the #1 pick (front 7). But there is just no way they pass over Luck and reach for Clayborn or Fairley, right?

I'm shocked at how low you have Marcel Dareus. Pretty much every draft place I have looked has had him as a top 5 pick or top 10 at worst. What don't you like about his game? I havent seen him play much but hes looked good to me.

--Newton is clearly coming out and he's going to be a top 10 pick. Everyone who talks about him believes the upside is a 265-pound Mike Vick (he is that fast) with real accuracy. He's considered a pretty sizeable risk because he has scant experience and the Auburn offense is gimmicky, but the potential is too great that someone will jump.

--Dareus is going to be a good player but IMO he doesn't make enough plays to merit a high 1st and I think that's what NFL people see. He's not as disruptive as Heyward, not as dynamic as Clayborn as a DE in a 3-4. If he goes to a 4-3 team he slides to 3-technique and in that regard he's not as good on the field as Marvin Austin, though Marvin has some serious baggage. I think teams picking in the top 10 will want more bang for their buck than what he offers.

Even though you havent liked locker much he still goes 2nd overall? is that due to SF's front office loving him or just the demand for QB's being that high?

I would bet that Newton doesn't crack a 4.4 at 265. I remember Vince Young seemed like Mike Vick fast too, but 4.5's with a big body is still wicked fast.

I agree, I can't see Newton being that fast. Vick wasn't just fast "for a QB". During the time when his hype was at its highest point, I venture to guess you could have lined him up against any player in the NFL and he would have beaten them on a race or at least make it interesting.

Didn't they say that Vick and DeAngelo Hall were always neck and neck speed wise at VT?

Plus, Vick is not only fast, he's elusive as heck too. I can't imagine Newton being to that level of a runner as Vick.

I see Newton athletically to be more closer to the bigger scrambling QBs like Vince Young or Culpepper.

Newton ran a 4.42 when auditioning for colleges at a JUCO workout last year and he did that weighing 258 pounds. According to his family he has run a 4.31 but take the source for what it's worth.

Vick at VT is the fastest guy I've ever seen. He had a run against West Virginia (IIRC) where he reversed field, got a crease, and ran just over 50 yards for a TD in under 6 seconds. To do that in a game is just amazing. Percy Harvin is probably the only other guy I can think of that can do that in a game situation. Maybe Chris Johnson but he's more of a short-burst speed guy, beyond about 30 yards he slows a bit where Vick and Percy just get faster.

I've never seen anyone run a straight line like Donte Stallworth.

This Baldwin guy from Stanford is pretty good. He reminds me of Steve Smith from Giants.

Lots of good players in this Auburn Bama game. Julio having a great first quarter, I think he might be the most NFL ready receiver. Fairly doesnt seem like the kind of DT i would want, too many stupid penalties. He seems like one of those thugs players I hate. Dareus is really good.

I think if he went to an SEC school that wouldn't even be a question. But the Big 10 is short on good offensive tackles this year and that will get held against him. He's a fairly obscure (heading into the season) white guy from a school that often had huge leads and never had to worry about the run and never played against a future NFL lineman. That's an oversimplification but that's what a lot of people deal in during the draft eval process.

IMO he's very similar to Jared Allen. Not quite as explosive going inside as Mr. Mullet but he's not one-dimensional liek so many of the collegiate DEs.
