Yeah, the Cowboys just happened to be one of those teams where fit and value aligned really well where they were picking.

Ambitious doing 3 rounds, I haven't done that yet this year 8-)

I love Teo to the Lions, have it in my latest mock. I hope Martin Mayhew likes it too.

Don't really like it for the Eagles. Would rather go for Te'o and switch to the 3-4. Also don't really like Jones although its a bit of a steal. Would rather go safety. I love Elam.
PG: Russell Westbrook, Reggie Jackson
SG: Andre Roberson, Anthony Morrow, Jeremy Lamb
SF: Kevin Durant, KJ McDaniels, Perry Jones

The Eagles are tough to project since they're obviously going to clear house this offseason, and who they pick will depend on who they bring in to be coach/GM. They've got a couple clear needs IMO (secondary, offensive line) so I tried to address those as best I could.

Te'o would be an interesting pick for the Eagles, and definitely good value there. Although if the rumors are true and Chip Kelly is going to be the next Eagles coach, my gut reaction tells me he would go for someone on the offensive side of the ball, since he's an offense guy. Maybe Luke Joeckel? Definitely no skill positions players worth taking in the top 5.

Nice job.

I'm really hoping Louis Nix stays for another year. But whenever he goes, I think he ends up a 1st rounder. He's an athletic, dominant NT. Pretty rare.

I still don't get why people think we need starting lineman... 4/5 starters have been injured all year. Next year we'll have Peters, Mathis, Kelce, Watkins, Herremans. We have much bigger issues than that..

Post#13 » by Icness » Sat Dec 8, 2012 7:03 pm

3rd mock this week I've seen with Bernard going to Cincy in the 2nd. What's funny is that I know the Bengals don't scout underclassmen AT ALL under they declare. Their regional scout for that area probably hasn't seen Bernard other than as ancillary to the other players he was scouting.

Not saying it's a bad pick though 8-)

I really doubt the Bears go with 2 offensive linemen the first 2 rounds. Their most recent OL pick was Gabe Carimi, and as much as they need it, I think they'll go elsewhere in the 2nd round to avoid getting 2 busts in one draft. I think they may look towards the MLB position to replace Urlacher as he ages, or even a speedy WR to supplement Jeffrey and Marshall.

Khaled Holmes won't be drafted in the first 5 rounds. Can't see GB taking 2 interior lineman in the first two rounds when both Lang and Sitton are under contract long term.

Packers fan here. Biggest needs are: 3-4 DE, C & LT. WR to replace Jennings is nice but not a msut, RB. BPA from one of those areas is ideal. I think the Packers believe in Bulaga as the RT. Sitton and Lang are nice Gs.

In your mock I think they'd take:
1st: Jesse Williams, Ertz, Barrett Jones, Gio Bernard
2nd: Patterson, Sylvester Williams, Lacy, Aboushi
Jenkins in the 3rd is solid.
Better to remain silent and be thought a fool than to speak and to remove all doubt

I would love this for Cowboys, but Jerry and his big ego would never draft 3 linemen, no matter who they are. I have seen a mock with them taking Tyler Wilson 1st, which nearly made me vomit. It is now being tougher and tougher to be a cowboy fan when it is more about the marketing versus the on field results. IF Jerry would look across the parking lot and see what the Rangers have done, he would see the impact of filling all positions can have on the bottom line and marketing of the team. This type of draft is needed, an inside out one.
