I'm getting sick of Beltran

Post#1 » by Airplane » Wed Jun 20, 2007 4:23 am

I've about had it with Carlos Beltran. I'm giving him until the end of this season and hopefully the playoffs to prove he belongs in a Mets uniform. He's signed through 2011 and for 120 million dollars so far he has not even come close to earning his paycheck. If he continues on his inept path, next season I want Gomez in CF, Martinez in left and a trade for a power bat in RF. Beltran can hit the road. Good riddance. Dude is sooooooo soft he annoys the hell out of me.

Ugh...I can't take watching him pop up at the plate anymore. :banghead:

Did you even watch the game today?

Beltran had some good swings, everyone had great swings in fact, it seemed as if the ball was dying. beltrna hit about 3 balls hard our of his 4.

You'd be crazy to trade Beltran, it's so early in the season.

carlos beltran is one of the best CF's in the game right now when healthy.

when he's not he's a pain in the as* to watch. but you can clearly see he's getting healthy. he's not hte most loveable guy, but to say he hasn't came close to earning his paycheck (look at last year) is insane. the guy will be fine.

i'd trade beltran in '10 for a ace type pitcher who's young. but that's so far away who knows where we'll be.,

He hasn't earned his paycheck. Year 1-terrible. Year 2-great but left a bad taste in everyone's mouth by not taking the bat off his shoulders in the final ab against the Cards. Year 3-AWFUL.

For 120 million dollars, we need him to be a superstar.

the guy's been banged up ever since he wore that Met uniform.

Do you guys even remember that collision with Cameron?!?!?! And when he hurt himself at the warning track just to catch the ball??? Guy will always be solid defensively. He's awful to watch offensively right now but he'll bounce back.

I dunno about Delgado though. I think he's close to done.

Martinez in the majors @ 19 lol.... Be serious, he doesnt have the range in the OF so far in his young career. If he doesnt improve that, I expect the mets to convert him to an IF, either 2B, most likely 1B.

I do hope to see an OF of Milledge, gomez and Beltran next season though. That defense would be amazing.

green/alou are gone next season. that's a given. beltran needs to stay.

fernando isn't ready for the majors at all let alone start.... if he was then why was ben johnson/ricky ledee brought up?

gomez will probably start somewhere and so will milledge. i hope fernando moves to 1b.
