Who are your teams?

Post#1 » by Doctor MJ » Mon Apr 2, 2007 9:15 am

I've got 3 faves:

UCLA, my school.

San Diego State, my brother's school.

Michigan, coolest. helmets. ever. Yeah I was like 5 when I gave my loyalty to them for utterly meaningless reasons, doesn't mean I'm going to stop cheering for them. :D

Notre Dame. I'm an Irish Catholic male who grew up in northern central Indiana. It's only natural.

Other than that. My sympathy lies with IU. I went there, and kind of held my loyalties between both IU and ND.

Oregon State all the way baby!!

I also have respect for Boise State and Hawaii (got to respect a team that includes a war dance in their pre-game workout).

Teams I despise...Oregon Ducks, USC, Oregon Ducks, Notre Dame and...well...the Oregon Ducks.
This space needs to be filled with a new sig...but I'm too lazy to make one.

The Oregon Ducks.

Which means I'll be fighting it out with KIE endlessly.

I didn't meet any that were easy  That makes KIE a very sad panda.

Good to see that the Pac 10 has strong representation here (even if PNF is one of them).

Right on. I'm never been someone who really hates my rivals. In general I'll cheer for Pac 10 first, then Big 10 (I'm an old school Rose Bowl homer), and then everyone else depending on my whims.

The team with the best helmets in football 8) including NFL, AFL, CFL, NFL Europe also, the maize & navy...Michigan[in football only] UCLA don't want me 2 like them in football.

And I big time favor teams who go against the teams you have 2 hate in college football. Irish. Texas[hated them in the late 90's & it started with the basketball team] A few other family members hate Texas also, 2 of them are Sooner fans. And the 3 Florida teams also

I actually do like to watch Sooner games cause their fight music is my favorite & I like Bob Stoops.

My college football heart lies with the Alabama Crimson Tide!

other teams i enjoy are TCU, Texas Tech and everyones sweetheart Stephen F. Austin Lumberjacks.

I dislike Texas sorta i hate the florida schools and I like Bob Stoops also. And im starting to really hate USC but reggie bush was fun to watch.

I'm really not quite understanding the hate for the Irish. Is it just the winning? Is it because they don't operate like any other football program/school? Is it because of the fans?

I mean, I hate the Yankees and the Red Sox, mostly because of fan interactions with lifelong fans of those two teams. It's so easy to find out that the annoying ND fans have only been fans of them since the day they enrolled at ND and flew to South Bend from New York or LA. Anywhere else in the country where ND is THE Catholic University, ND fans are respectful and noble. I've never seen ND fans at ND games call out any other fans, but I've had USC fans call my mother a bi**h with my father and I standing right in between them (my mother doesn't quite understand football and was asking a question of us). I've never seen ND fans act the way Michigan, OSU, or Purdue fans treat opposing fans.

I'm honestly curious on this, and not trying to stir up any hatred here. I apologize if this takes over the thread, and if it does, maybe we could just split it into a new thread to not detract from the original intent of the thread.
