Week 5 thread

Post#1 » by Icness » Thu Sep 27, 2007 11:14 pm

Not many compelling games this week. The highlights:
Cal at Oregon
Clemson at Georgia Tech
West Virginia at South Florida (Fri.)
Michigan State at Wisconsin, good test for how good/bad Wisconsin is

Others worth attention:
Alabama/FSU at JAX
Auburn at Florida
USC at Washington, small potential for a hiccup
Notre Dame at Purdue, if only to see how many points ND can give up
UMass at Boston College--the Minutemen are every bit as good as App State
Kent St. at Ohio, first MAC game for my Bobcats

Cal at Oregon will they televise it?
First the federal government borrowed money; then gave the money to Bank of America; then I borrowed some of that money from Bank of America and gave it to the federal government; then the federal government gave the money back to Bank of America.

Its too bad WVU plays a cheesecake schedule. We're gonna go undeafeted and won't get a shot at the national title just because the teams we play this year are average and bad in comparison to us.

This weeks game: USF can't keep up with us. We have too much team speed and we will definetly score a ton. I don't think they have what it takes to keep up with us.

yes...although not the extent that they should. the pac10 has a national primetime game (abc 5pm) but for some reason went with usc-uw for that one. espn gameday is coming to the cal-oregon game, and that one is on abc at 12:30 but only abc regional so the majority of the country won't be able to see it (on regular tv; i'm sure there are ways to get it via extra packages or satellite). tom hansen :banghead:

It's funny because there would be a legit shot that they don't televise this game under different circumstances.

If one of these teams goes above triple digits, don't be surprised. Cal is now decimated by injuries (Zach Follett out for Saturday) and Oregon's defense starts AJ Tuitele at LB. Let the gunslinging commence.

Also, two great offensive lines will be plying their trade.

Did you watch the game last year?

Thats what everyone was saying when the Bulls came to Morgantown, and look at what happened.

I'm not saying that USF is a lock to win, but they'll make it a very good game.

The +/- on the Cal-Oregon game has gone up 2.5 points in the last 48 hours. Is there anyone who can play defense at either school?

The Ducks' mascot is pretty good at defense...

or is that just good at beating up other mascots?
This space needs to be filled with a new sig...but I'm too lazy to make one.

Doubtful. Oregon's top 3 tacklers are secondary players.

Not many teams can match WVU's speed--but USF comes as close as any. Their DBs are all over the place and their DL is getting off blocks real well too.

21-3 now. Good patience by the USF running back on that touchdown run. Didn't think he had much at all.

Slaton sucks
First the federal government borrowed money; then gave the money to Bank of America; then I borrowed some of that money from Bank of America and gave it to the federal government; then the federal government gave the money back to Bank of America.
