Given the need in FIBA-style ball for good shooters to break the zone, the only way Curry wasn't making the team was if he played like absolute crap.

My only gripe with this is that CJ Watson was not even considered for the team.

He clearly outplayed Curry at certain points of the season last year, so I feel that he should have made it

I wouldn't be surprised if by 2014 Curry > Wade/Kobe, so there's certainly a chance he'll be the starting 2. Even in 2012 he could probably be Wade's immediate backup.

Don't know how Coach K is going to arrange the rotation, but I'm interested in seeing Durant own his defender next month. Back to topic, Evans was injured so that was obvious. Wallace played like crap. And I guess Mayo was the odd man out of a bunch of similar guards.

It is because he was out of for the entire week. This was already established at the start of the week

Eh. He wouldn't make final cut even if he were healthy.

Yes, yes i know you hate Evans. You don't exactly know this sense that wasn't how it turned out.

They already ave a player like Evans that they can take: Westbrook. There wasn't really anyone like Curry trying out for a spot. I think this is more about filling a need on the team rather than which player is better.

I don't hate Evans. And Floppy's right - Evans was pointless on a gaurd heavy team.

Steph's made it.

Coach K just said Steph's on ball defense was "very good".

Evans dominates the ball too much for a team full of guys that want the ball more. Evans can dominate...he's very good. But he's just not the right kind of point guard. Gary Payton and Baron Davis are similar types....but not the right kind of point guard in this case.

I think his only competition now is Gordon (who I think shouldn't even be on the team) but who can compete with him as a shooter. I heard that he's been playing a lot of point surprisingly. If he sticks, that's who SC will be competing against methinks.

You're being a homer too much and Visigoth...

You just came up with a theory, convinced yourself it was true, and then presented it as a fact. You have no proof whatsoever that this is what they did or what they are thinking.

From Chris Littmannn of the Sporting News...

Coach K on @stephencurry30: "He's an outstanding passer and stretches the defense. He's probably our longest range shooter."
