saw this on Roto thought I would pass it along. would be great to get him back sometime around April for him to knock the rust off and prepare for a postseason run.

Ezeli and JO coming back could make a huge difference. It's like those little tiny things that make a huge impact.

Idk, he seems rejuvenated the past two seasons. The two injuries he had this year were both terribly unlucky. Slipping on a wet spot, doing the splits and screwing up your groin and then getting your hand caught in the net to mess your wrist up.

Not like his body is just falling apart like it was in Boston where he couldn't get out of bed without aggravating something.

Wish he didnt promise that, I think our 2nd unit will be better without him.

They would be better with him if they didn't post him up every time. This damn team just loves their post ups. Sigh.

This is awesome. His ability to defend the basket, rebound, and make good decisions with the ball have been sorely missed. I hope he makes it back soon.

Per 40, Warriors are -12.4 with Speights and +3.3 with O'Neal.

JO is an isolation player, stats largely unaffected by switching teams. Speights of course started off like total ass. And its a small sample size. But I wouldnt say 1.4 to in 18 minutes and 0.3 apg is making good decisions with the ball. It stagnates the rest of the team, and since JO never passes from the post, its being used as stand-alone offense.

And when its used like that, its by far the most useless play in basketball, outside of an off-the-dribble long 2.

Much rather use Lee and Speights as backup Cs and get to our running brand.

Ie think that O'Neal in the Playoffs would be a great help...not to mention that the team seems to feed a bit off of him in the locker room. His experience is valuable and much needed.

Nice piece to possibly have around playoff time.

I like that

Off court, complete D-bag though. I pity the med staff that has to work with him

Just what I've heard. Guess he's not a good guy, and it was really emphasized.

Really? I don't know many people that would pass on a player that can defend, rebound, and post up over an inefficient jump shooter who doesn't defend, rebound, or post up.

Then again, you are the guy that said post defense is as useless as post offense.

Well you could kinda tell on the court, too. Dude has an attitude every now and then. I do like his PG interview/speech @ New Orleans, though. Lmao.

JO is a must in the playoffs. Speights is just as bad as he was at the beginning of the season. He's getting a pass now because a few more shots are going down, but he's still dumb as bricks every time he touches the ball and completely useless on D.

Thats not really fair. He's blocked some shots and is rebounding pretty well. I like what he's doing lately. Early in the season I totally agree with you. Will be interesting to see how they handle things when Festus gets back.

I could see some teams being interested in Festus if he comes back and plays well. Young bigs can garner some value. For instance Cleveland has only Zeller after Varajeo....Once he's gone they will need a young big man, I could see Festus fitting in there.

I'll give speights one thing, his effort has improved. He just does some cringeworthy stuff in the lane and seems to be out of position on D constantly.

Speights doesn't rebound? Or defend? Lol he rebounds better than JO, by a wide margin. He scores more in the system of the offense too.

Who knew that evaluating someone who needs to play within a team in the first month against an isolation guy who kills ball movement would slant in the latter's direction?

And hey, have you checked out Minnesota lately? Man... Pek's got some crazy post offense. I'm worried about getting by them in the playoffs.
