Blatt is both fantastic and somewhat the psychopath. He's one of the best coaches in the world, but pretty much the anti-Jackson in every way.

Would love to see how Lee and Curry would react to that kind of treatment

Time for our boys to grow a pair now if they can't handle that (that's if, he's coming over).

I don't know much about him but that article had high praise for his basketball mind. Seems like he would be a good hire if he is a brilliant offensive coach.

Warriors need an offensive mind. Golden State has all the tools to be a juggernaut on offense; shooting, scoring, passing, etc. It's just a matter of if those tools can be utilized to it's full potential or not.

Also, with Klay, Iggy, Draymond, Bogut and hopefully a healthy Ezeli back our defense will remain above average. Even moreso if Jermaine O'Neal is still with us and can stay healthy as a 3rd center behind Bogut and Ezeli; we would always have plenty of big defensive guys ready, instead of in the Playoffs where both Bogut and Ezeli were hurt and we had to give JO the workload minutes.

If Kerr pulls this off we can win a championship. Freaking awesome coach.

Very good coach. Has gotten it done in Europe with small budgets in comparison to the main competitors (Barcelona, Real, CSSKA etc) and little starpower. Really good knowledge of the player market, especially american players playing in smaller leagues throughout Europe.

His specialty is actually his defensive coaching, particularly the match-up zone. He likes giving opponents a lot of different looks, often changing his D in the same possesion. Offensively, he understands spacing very well and uses lots of pick n rolls to attack the basket with his slashing guards. Often uses small or even extra-small ball, with three guards, a natural small forward and a center, mostly a short, athletic and mobile one. 7 foot behemoths are not popular in Europe, were coaches rely to shorter players who can jump out of the gym to block shots, but also quick enough to switch and contain a guard or hedge hard and recover quickly. All recent Euroleague champions (Panathinaikos in '07, '09, '11 with Mike Batiste at 6'8'', Olympiakos in '12 and '13 with Kyle Hines at 6'6'' and Blatts Maccabi with Alex Tyus at 6'9'') have relied on undersized bigs for the majority of minutes.

Looks like he coaches both ends of the floor extremely well. Hope we get it done. A fresh approach to things never hurts.

Quick look at some rumors has Maccabi offering Blatt a 2-year 800,000 per extension, with Blatt seeking 4-year. 1M per year. So if Kerr and Blatt seem to fit, the money should be there. It also looks like Saunders is interested in him as a possible lead assistant in Minnesota. Might be more appealing as Saunders is likely head coach for a 1 or 2 years so the assistant would be likely be groomed to be the successor.

Except when Minnesota has bad records for the next two seasons (the second one being without LOVE) the odds will be that they wouldn't replace Saunders with someone on his own staff.

I wouldn't worry about Minnesota beating out Golden State for an assistant coaching spot. More room for Blatt to shine in Golden State.

Get er done Warriors.

Love the outside the box thinking in this possible hire. Nothing like have an offensive genius drawing up plays. Who is going to be the defensive guru?

It seems like Blatt does both
Most 4th Quarter Points in Final since 1991
1995 Shaquille O'Neal 11.5
2000 Shaquille O'Neal 11.5 (61.1% TS)
2015 Stephen Curry 10.8 (75.1% TS)
1997 Michael Jordan 10.7 (55.1% TS)
1998 Michael Jordan 10.6 (50.6% TS)
2011 Dirk Nowitzki 10.3 (68.0% TS)

I love everything I've seen about this. You look at the offensive talent, including the unselfishness of our players, and it would be a dream opportunity for someone to come over here, transform the offense, and in 1-2 years become a head coach.

I think we would need to make sure most of the rest of the coaching staff had true NBA experience.... A little nervous with our top 2 guys not having any NBA coaching experience. But this would sound like a coup.

It would be interesting to see how Blatt coming over (presumably to transform the offense) would affect players' interest in coming to Golden State. For example, does Love get more excited, or less excited? Hopefully we'll find out.

Blatt and Messina have been on NBA team radars for sometime now. Blatt wants a head coaching gig and that probably isn't going to happen, but the Warriors will pay him entry level head coach pay, as they did Malone to get him over here. I would be shocked if he went to Minnesota, unless they tell him he is their future head coach.

Blatt appears to be good at coaching both sides of the ball, so not sure if you need a defensive guy as well.
