It will be a setback of epic proportions if US doesn't bring home gold.

I hope as many Warriors as possible - except Bogut - play in World Cup. It's good experience to be playing under Coach K and with such elite players, and also good opportunity for friendships to develop, that end up helping to bring great players to Oakland. Hopefully Steph is handing out assists and alley oops left and right, and hitting 30 footers, and guys can't wait to come play with him.

What brought LeBron, Bosh, Wade together? Team USA.

I say Spain because it's in Spain and they'll be super motivated. Maybe I should have checked the rosters first before spouting off...lol

I assumed both Gasols and Rubio were playing for Spain...not even sure if that's true.

So apparently Klay and Steph have made Demarcus Cousins an Honorary Splash Brother for a day after Boogie finished 3rd in a Team USA, 3 point comp

That could be because he's more ready to go than the other players who have been taking a break after getting beat down for 100 games.

It could also be because he's not going to be on the final roster and the coaches don't want to give the impression that he's damaged goods.

I think Rose will pretty much bounce back this season but maybe he needs Team USA for a little practice game tune up rather than kicking off a long, grueling season.

Coming in peace. If Rose was looking like damaged goods, it's 100% certain that the team USA assistant coach, THIBS would pull him immediately. Every coach and every single player corroborates that report. Even the players on the select team, and other PG's that have no incentive to do so.

I'm not saying that Rose is damaged goods. I think Rose will be good this season, and that Cleveland doesn't have a clear path to the Finals, with or without Love. I like Chicago a lot and don't see why they can't make the Finals with or without Love.

Just commenting that it might not be a good idea for Rose to play throughout the basketball world cup but definitely a good idea, if he's healthy, to be scrimmaging with these guys. And that the team wouldn't want to give the *impression* that he won't make the final roster cuz he's injured.

I'm not sure who might opt out. They definitely have some ballers - Calderon, the Gasols, Ibaka, Rubio. It's in Spain. But we're sending our pros - Durant, Steph, Anthony Davis, Paul George, Klay, Cousins. IDK any Team USA loss is a huge upset!

Yup.

But Klay plays defense, is younger, and though he's not that good at it he can take a player off the dribble occassionally.

Kover won doing the ONLY thing he does well.

Not to mention that along with Rubio, they also have Calderon, Sergio Rodriguez, Sergio Lull, and Victor Claver.

Krzyzewski has always preferred to play small and pressure the ball, and his roster naturally favors that style. When the Americans get to Spain, Davis will start at center, Kevin Durant will start at power forward, and Paul George will likely start at small forward.

Steph/Klay/George/KD/Davis, how sick would that be?

Whos' watching the USA exhibition? D. Rose looks really good. Dude cannot run an offense though.

It's funky seeing Klay guard Steph.

You hate to see something like this happen, especially when it's just a scrimmage. Hope PG can recover from this and come back.
