Curry's Value?

Post#1 » by AdonalFoyle4Prez » Wed Aug 13, 2014 7:14 pm

Not too sure what status he'd have after his contract is up in 3 years (Restricted or Unrestricted FA), but it'll be devastating to see the kid go. Has done a lot for our organization and community. He's probably top 10 players with the highest value to a team.

If he does have his heart set on going back home (and if we had an opportunity to do a sign and trade), I'm thinking it'd take multiple future 1st round picks + Kemba Walker.

But, I'm convinced Lacob and Co. will sign him to a more lucrative contract to make sure he stays a Warrior until he's done. And that shooting stroke will never diminish over time.

He'll get full MAX for full duration from us. I don't think he cares as much about leaving for the Bobkittens as you do.

Eh. Way too early for this.

Players think about playing at home all the times. Not a big deal to say when decision time is 3 years away.

When it's decision time, they don't end up with the hometown team. 95% of the times.

Who knows what kinda player Kemba Walker will be like in 3 years. Way too premature to have this type of discussion (trade who for who).

If Curry decided to leave us in 3 years, it's back to the tank-a-thon of the Cohan days.
Most 4th Quarter Points in Final since 1991
1995 Shaquille O'Neal 11.5
2000 Shaquille O'Neal 11.5 (61.1% TS)
2015 Stephen Curry 10.8 (75.1% TS)
1997 Michael Jordan 10.7 (55.1% TS)
1998 Michael Jordan 10.6 (50.6% TS)
2011 Dirk Nowitzki 10.3 (68.0% TS)

I can see this happening if the FO keeps doing what they've been doing. If they don't get another star and if the Hornets aren't terrible by then, he's most likely gone.

Yeah, the front office/ownership took this http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/GSW/2010.html and turned it into this http://www.basketball-reference.com/teams/GSW/2014.html. Curry should be STEAMING!

This thread is completely unnecessary.

He doesn't need to be "steaming" to want to leave. He can be perfectly content and still want to go play for his hometown team especially if they start looking more promising in the next couple years...

It's scary. What if we never sniff the conference finals? What if the Bobcats build a really good team? Seems unlikely now, but don't put it out of the question.

I guess Lillard will just come back to Oakland to replace Curry. Because, you know, all guys go home.

You know, we should probably just trade Curry now, since he's going to leave. Let's not go through all this Kevin Love "I'm going to leave next year (because I'm homesick)" crud. Let's pre-empt it.

Pretty sure 100% of nba players sometimes wonder what it's like to play at home.

Maybe we can use this for something good. If we can convince Nedovic and Kuzmic to go play at home, we probably don't have to pay them, and can recover their roster spots, right?

The front office discussing trading Klay with Curry and getting his thoughts, goes a long way in building or rebuilding his trust with the front office.

If you have to ask..you can't afford it.

Players may want to go hometown..yet..not that many really do so.

I'd agree. I lived in Nor Cal for decades...it's nice..especially if it's winter and you are a millionaire.
3 yr in the future? You may like your teammates...your neighbors. 3 yur from now... what the case is THEN is what's relevant. GSW has NO urge to trade Curry NOW unless some team makes a RADICAL offer...which...would mess up that team.
