I really hope this isn't true.....Barnes isn't worth a dime more than $10 million per year, let alone $15 or $20 million. He's a role player at best. I would much rather give that money to Batum if Durant doesn't sign.

Role players are worth much more than 10 mill now. If we match, there's still a chance he is traded, as opposed to letting him go for nada

Crap you're right....there are still other decent small forwards available though that I have more faith in than Barnes, I would even rather offer that money to Wade, put him at shooting guard and move Klay to small forward.

Curry
Wade
Klay
Draymond
Bogut

I think Barnes will see his market options, GS ups the contract offer from last off season maybe add incentives and Barnes gives a discount to stay coming back an improved player having played on the Olympic team.

Meyes has a history of negotiating good contracts and getting players to give discounts iggy took less, Bogus extended on incentive laden deal, Curry took less, Thompson extended, Green gave a discount so it can be seen as Barnes turn.

Barnes being chosen for Olympic squad is a confidence booster and practicing with nothing but all stars for month will improve some aspect of his game with general maturation of a 24 year old.

Barnes had a chance to take a contract with us. He clearly wants to make as much money as possible

I was so done with Barnes even before the finals. Signing Barnes would hurt me more than that game 7 loss. He is my least favorite player in NBA history.
