he is far more efficient than Klay. I would be happy to have Grayson on the team than Klay

I doubt Klay is going anywhere. We should just accept that chances are all 3 stay until they retire, even if it means the team suffers some. Like Kobe in LA.

"Some" is acceptable. The problem I see is that as long as they're here together they're going to believe they still have a chance, and there's going to be pressure, subtle or otherwise, to put a great roster around them. But spending what it would take to do that would leave the team desolated after, and it wouldn't even work.

They can let him walk but they don't have a way to replace him with another scorer.

They can also let CP3 walk. Those two earned over $70 million this year.

Will that let them sign an MLE player? I'm not sure but it still may not be enough in salary cap savings.

Since a lot of fans want to scapegoat him, he should go elsewhere, take his 268 3-pointers with him, see if the team is better that way.

His horror fest in the final game might end up being a great bargaining tool for the front office.

2-years, MLE.

If he only plays 15 minutes per game as the 3rd guard off the bench, corner 3 man?

I don't know how far that way they'd go. It's possible they really hurt themselves, but probably not. They are realists.

One factor that doesn't get talked about much is will Kerr stick around when Curry leaves? Curry is the key to the Warriors, but Kerr is the one who unlocked Curry.

Pretty sure, Klay, Kerr, Steph, and Dray are not.

And what's the plan for replacing the 268 3PMs he would take with him?

Warriors will win at least 46 games next season without those points because of better defense?

Or maybe some MLE player will make about 140 of them and better defense will make up for the rest?

Draymond is addressing the question about whether Klay will be re-signed. He just said they gave Klay a $168 million extension after he tore his ACL so he has no doubt the ownership group will retain Klay.

I have zero sympathy.

Warriors loyally (and stupidly) rewarded Klay with a MAX contract AFTER his acl injury...

... and then upon reportedly receiving a very generous 2/48 extension offer... Klay returned that loyalty by effectively saying...

Nah I'm good and I know your in the luxury tax but pay me more.

Maybe I'm just not a fan of greed in general... but karma is a bitch!

lol I forgot that him leaving the team means we retroactively lose the 3s he made in his career

You really think kerr is going to limit him to 15 minutes? Not a chance.

He was the #4 in the league in 3 pointers made -- just behind DDV.

So it's highly doubtful the Warriors replace all those 3s.

Curry and Klay had 632 combined 3PMs this season.

Warriors would definitely have to find another way to win because unless they get another knock-down shooter, Curry tries to carry a bigger load and as we saw this season, teams are loading up on him on defense already.

So what is that alternative path? Because you're unlikely to find another player whom they could acquire who'd make 200 3PMs.

Presumably they'd give more 3PAs to Moody and hope that Podz can up his volume and shoot at a good clip.

Then other possible players in free agency or via trades may chip in more.

Or do you just blow everything up, since Curry is 36 and is likely to decline -- though he thinks he's better than ever.

The 3 point shots Klay gets up become shots for other players who are more likely to contribute to winning in future years. Mostly Moody, Kuminga, and Podz. If Curry doesn't want to stick around for it, then we get some kind of trade package return and start the walk down the next road.

But oh no then the team will be worse next year than this year if we play like that! Yeah, we're gonna be worse next year than this year either way. They're getting older faster than the kids are getting better.
