Worst Warriors trade in the last 10 years. Bob would have never made the trade for this washed up, molasses-paced, attitude-ridden flopfest. Does not fit our offense in the least.

Ah yes right…it was Poole’s fault. That’ll fix our defense. Add the great Chris Paul and we’re out of the defensive cellar.

Warriors had the League #1 defensive team rating in 2021-22 and were #6 in the playoffs in 2022-23 - right behind the Lakers, and ahead of the Heat.

There's no trophies for regular season results!

No trophies for the regular season. Ask the Bucks.

There was clearly a defensive pattern the Warriors established in 21-22 that fell apart in 22-23. The 21-22 defensive regular season 100% carried over in the playoffs. The 22-23 defensive regular season improved in the playoffs, but was still very present in 3 of the 6 games vs the Lakers, giving up 117, 127 and 122 points. 3 times in the same series they gave up 117+ points.

In contrast, in 22 games in the 22 playoffs, the Warriors gave up 117+ points a total of 5 times.

In 13 games in the 23 playoffs, the Warriors gave up 117+ points a total of 6 times.

No trophies for that defensive effort either.

Chris Paul doesn’t turn the ball over like Poole.

I was right about 3 point shooting. I expect to be right about Tacko Fall. Some coach will figure out how to use Tacko Fall. This movement towards undersized centers will sweep ng back. Back to the basket scorers will return to the NBA.

Turnovers are a staple of our offense.

Poole is younger, healthier, and a better volume scorer than cp3. I think that's it as far as basketball goes.

Defensively, you don't want either of them on the ball. But cp3 is a much better and smarter team defender. Another aspect that will massively improve our defense are the live ball turnovers, cp3 is simply much better with the ball. Steph and dray are also careless at times, but they bring alot more to the table to help offset that issue. Adding a 3rd turnover machine playing big minutes was a problem for us last year.

Offensively cp3 should help others while poole helped himself. Cp3 might not score as much as poole, but he might generate as much if not more offense than Poole.

Hate cp3 or just love youth. But cp3 is an improvement over poole on the basketball court (if he can stay healthy)for at least next season.

Could Warriors still trade Chris Paul or they have to wait to December?
Also a buyout would be welcomed. Playing Steph at SG for 20 minutes is an awful projection. I cannot believe Steve Kerr have agreed to such a stupid craziness.

Never said to keep Poole. Said this trade i.e. acquiring Chris Paul is the worst trade in the last 10 years. Even if we kept Poole and merely acquired Paul in a FA pickup, it’s still a pathetic move to add him.

The only thing Chris Paul brings to this team is more experience and a minute amount of less turnovers.

Otherwise, this is a horrible, terrible trade that dramatically slows down our offense when he’s on the floor.

We will score less. The defense will not improve solely with his addition.

Such a strong stance on this trade, will be interesting if you're willing to fall on your sword if it works out.

I don't see why people are so bent out of shape about it. Poole was garbage, an active negative influence on both sides of the court (and maybe off but we don't know for sure). CP3 is a stable, experienced vet who they can easily eject anytime they want. Giving Poole the big contract was a mistake, which is on the team, but, like with Wiseman, they had to take a hit to correct. It's pretty simple. I'm not a big CP3 fan, but he makes the team better in the short term and they gain lots of flexibility after this year that they didn't have before. So it's a good trade, even if it comes with a slightly bitter pill to swallow.

even at the age of 37 his advanced stats suggest he contributed to winning ten fold over JP last year

Getting rid of poole was addition by subtraction. Getting anything of value (Paul) was just gravy.

Poole gave up on the team last year and was really selfish. I understand the circumstances but he was really bad and kerr basically gave him unlimited chances at the detriment of the team. It really will be addition by subtraction just because he won't be gifted minutes while tanking the team. Add in cp3 was still a top 50 player last year and we should be a lot better.
