The ONLY move the Warriors need is to sign a legit defensive backup center.

That might be the case. But, I have a feeling you're going to have to make do with OPJ once he's bought out. :D

most likely, also means youth development is what it is, but also gives a little more hope that CP3's contract will be used to address a need. Or at least attempted

Going by what I've been told here/reading here, they can give Klay a 17m a year and get out of the luxury tax. They can give him more if they were to let Looney walk, guaranteeing only 3m of his 8.5m contract next season. And obviously, they can give Klay even more if they decide to salary dump GP2 and/or Moody, etc.

CP's contract is a big factor in what they can offer Klay and stay under the tax line. If they let CP walk it's not hard. But if they use some of it to bring back a $10-15M salary, for instance, that complicates things. And from what's reported, Lacob is serious about getting under the tax line.

even 2/34m is too much for me. The 2/21m Mike Conley deal is probably the most I'd give him and it would probably be an insult to him if we offered it.

Extend Klay but with a major pay cut.

Pick up the Chris Paul option and send Chris Paul, millions of dollars, Saric and Moody and draft picks to Atlanta for Dejounte Murray and Capella who we send to a 3rd team for a 7 foot 1 270 pound shot blocker.

17M a year or more for klay is madness at this point. if he feels insulted then show him the door.

Lacob hasn't given up on that dream yet. Might have just been postponed for the summer.

Klay considered 2/48m an insult, imagine what he will do at that deal.

I honestly think there will be moves available in the summer. So I'm glad the FO didn't make any moves this deadline. This season is a wash. Would have been a waste. Doesn't necessarily have to be big moves, but I do see a lot of teams in the league where if they underwhelm in the playoffs, there could be changes. And that means opportunities for other teams.

I can see Klay getting booed on the regular next season if he's given a big new deal and he regularly **** the bed.

I think they do a lot of rationalizing and coping.
I was right about 3 point shooting. I expect to be right about Tacko Fall. Some coach will figure out how to use Tacko Fall. This movement towards undersized centers will sweep ng back. Back to the basket scorers will return to the NBA.

Why would the Lakers even consider this?

Serious question... what is the going rate in today's NBA for 'random hot shooting off the bench, with no defense, rebounding, or long-term upside'?

$5M/yr? $10M/yr?
