Team still needs him and he’s not bringing a young all star level player in a return.

They’re pretty much stuck with him. If Curry wants to get away from Green, he’s going to have to ask for a trade.

Nonsense.

Green won't get an all star in return, and we will take a step back initially in trading him, but if they lost this game today, or if any time remaining in this season if Green melts down and costs us a loss in our final game, Curry will march into Dunleavy's office and say it's time to move Draymond out. They will field offers, we will get lowballed and then they will trade him.

The organization on or off the court is stronger keeping Curry without Dray than Dray without Curry. It's a no brainier.

30-40 point on/off Defensive rating difference.

The more you give him the ball at the top of the court the more he attacks.
He is not a catch and shoot player, he is not a role player. He is not a player who should stay at the corner.
Just give him the ball and give him screens and you have a star player.

I have 5.5 seasons of evidence that say this is the exact opposite of reality

2nd/3rd option Wiggins can be a force on both sides. He's not ideal, but it's probably the best we have.

I made this point in after the Miami game even though I thought it was so obvious. Wiggins, when he plays with real force, is a complete game-changer for this squad. He can cover up so many mistakes/bad games that it is almost criminal how little effort he put into this season. Last night's game was his best of the season and it wasn't exactly a 30pt triple double or the highlight tape of a DPOY. He was playing the way mikal bridges plays every game. Last night, that meant that JK's absence, Dray's early ejection and the poor shooting/defense/shot selection from Steph DID NOT MATTER. We went into Orl and took the best defense in the league since the all-star break to the woodshed. IF this wiggins shows up for the last ten games, I like our chances of getting the 8 seed. Big if, of course, but the last two games indicate he may be waking up.

Last night notwithstanding, we absolutely need Dray's defense both individually and what he does to the team in terms of communication, scheme, help defense, etc.

It was such a soft ejection last night. Called the ref a "female dog butt ninja" as he walked away and that warrants a 2nd tech? Especially considering how much rope Dray gets from refs in terms of his language. Not to say Dray should have bumped that ref for the first tech, that was probably enough to get ejected on it's own. BUT, when that did not happen, getting that second tech, for those words, is a joke.

Seriously? Draymond hasn't gotten enough techs for his language that he shouldn't expect it? Not controlling his actions is one thing, but not being able to control his language (when he has one tech already!) is just beyond ridiculous.

Ok so you're assuming we get a neutral or negative player in return. Possible, but more likely we can get someone who is a defensive plus to some degree. You are also discounting the fact that the team will adjust when he is gone. Roles with change, systems will change, other trades will be made (side-eyeing CP3.) Regardless, if Draymond is off the court due to ejection or suspension when this season comes to an end, if Curry says trade him, he's gone. And I will be just fine with the result.

Yes.

No one should have to put up with that kind of verbal abuse in the workplace, not even an NBA ref.

Yes, frankly he earned an ejection when he touched the ref to begin with, given his history.

So name some of those players who'd offer defensive positional flexibility.

That's not even counting his playmaking on offense.

agree with the point about touching the ref and said as much in my post.

However, getting a second tech for that language is absolutely not how it goes in the league. Players say much worse and don't get tossed. Draymond, in particular, has gotten a ton of rope from the refs in how he talks, how demonstrative he is, etc. For that to be the bar last night is pretty ridiculous. That's even without getting into the rest of the game as the refs were pretty bad/inconsistent in how they called the contact inside, the off-ball contact, etc.

The things players say as the walk away from a ref after an argument has no place in society, the workplace, etc. But that's not the standard. If it was, the only people playing would be a bunch of choir boys and mike conley.

He gets a ton of techs for the language but rarely gets the 2nd for that. He'll get tossed for altercations or reacting crazy or getting in a refs face while blowing his top. Getting a 2nd tech for a derogatory comment as he walked away is unusual, not just for dray but for any NBA player. It's why the bench was surprised/upset with the ref after that 2nd tech. Most of dray's ejections don't involve the team reacting to the referee that way, especially not this season.

I am not supposing that we get another Draymond Green to replace him. We will get a different player who contributed in different ways and we will have to play new systems that don't depend on one guy doing everything he has done. That does not mean a 1:1 reduction in defensive performance. Getting rid of Draymond means doing things different after he is gone. I'm ready for that.

You are entitled to the treatment and consideration that your behavior in the past has earned for you. There are no blank slates in life. Draymond should/could be thrown out of a game for anything at any time and he deserves it.

I'm surprised the ejection itself is being debated here. Touching a ref is automatic T, then an argument that intense with an insult after they have been patient listening to your yelling is a 2nd tech pretty much 100% of the time.

None of the Warriors seemed pissed at the refs, just disappointed with Draymond.

I’m so ready for the post-Draymond era. Insufferable a hole.

Feel free to come at me with the “we can’t win without Draymond” BS….because they ain’t winning with him either and he leaves his teammates hanging.

That take makes it seems like dray beats his wife or is a felon or whatever. Does he have impulse control issues? Sure.

On the other hand:
Jokic put one of the morris twins in the hospital with whiplash and an injured neck. Bobby portis broke a dude's face. Gobert got into a fight with a teammate during the last game of the season as they were fighting for seeding, ON THE BENCH, DURING A GAME. Kyrie is an anti-semite. Miles Bridges beats his children's mother, on tape, and then throws a brick through her car window with the kids inside. Ja assaults a teenager, a mall security guard, flashes guns multiple times and has his boys threaten opposing players. Bryn Forbes was arrested last month for strangulation of a family member. We got coaches who beat their wives (Kidd) or got group sexual assault (gang r#pe) charges brought against them (Chauncey). Hell, on this team last year, we had a dude that was named in a lawsuit as an alleged rapist. Chuck, who's out here hating on the dubs and talking about Dray needs help, was holding Bird's arms from behind as Dr. J was pounding away.

This isn't 'whataboutism.' This is the league making Dray to be dr. doom when, in reality, they have actual felons playing like it's all gravy.

All this holier than thou crap is just that.. crap.

If you want to bring up past behavior, it's the refs that have allowed dray to yell and scream and gesticulate without giving him a second tech for the last decade. Last night is when it changed? Did they send a memo or just started calling thing differently?

refs are so bad and biased (just see how curry is treated on a nightly basis) players should not get a tech for yelling at them.... they've been awful this season so far, and it's a trend going downwards year after year.

There is a quote that has been attributed to Socrates, Sophocles and Plato. It goes "To have a penis is to be chained to a madman." Draymond is the team's dick. :D

If a player beats their wife on the court I’m sure the referees would eject them for that without waiting for them to do it twice.

This is a stupid comparison. We are done here.
