least excited I've been about playoffs/next couple years in a long time

barring a bigtime Dunleavy trade in the offseason that vaults someone else into the starting lineup, everything looks pretty rough. I think the worst part is that there was an entire aspect of the game (defense heavy) that we at least could have tried, to gauge its success level, and didn't. So *another* season where we tried to force the answer that the coach wanted, minimal adapting, and likely no results. And as we dive deeper into the decline, adaptability becomes more and more important

Still a punchers' chance I guess with all these people who can get hot, but most likely the grim end. Fun while it lasted, but its become clear that the franchise was put on 2, maybe 3 people's backs (if you want to count KD) and everyone else was along for the ride

Pelicans seem to have chosen to play the Lakers which is risky with the refs in the Lakers pockets. Do Pelicans think they cam beat the Kings and Warriors at will so facing Lakers and the refs in the 7-8 game won’t matter. I am not so sure that the Warriors can’t beat the Pelicans in New Orleans.

Accurate.

At least if it is, he's going out on a higher note than most of the season

Cp and Klays contracts can expire this year so a lot of the bad defenders playing big minutes could be gone next year.

You think the Pelicans 'chose' to play the Lakers in a play-in game rather than be the 6th seed? Lolwat.

Stop with the sugar-coat.

I guess we are also 1-0 in our last 1 game. Basically 100% (recently) going into the playoffs!

Can I get a JUGGGERNAUGT for our 10th placed powerhouse?

They had the home win against Dallas and they beat Phoenix in February.

I think that’s it versus the good teams since the first week of the season.

Yep. I look at next season as another “give the guys one more chance to win their way” scenario.

I’m really happy that the big minute guys like Usman & Guy & Luis took a step back, so Klay could have a chance to unwind a bit.

In honor of everything he sacrificed for the team.

I didn't watch the game but how did TJD get 0 rebounds in 21 minutes? Weird.

The same way Draymond scored 0 points in the previous game.

Dallas was the one actual playoff team win

The Pelicans game was the one that really let the air out of the tires

I had a lot more belief in Kerr 7 months ago.. but its crazy how much that's changed. Team is now more of a gatekeeper to actual playoff success than a threat of actual playoff success

and worst part is, somehow there are still lots of questions about pairings on the roster, specifically with the young players. 2 of whom are due extensions in the offseason if they have a future with the team

It all depends on the offseason now.

The team could decide that this was the season when the wheels finally came off, but it was one helluva great ride. One of the best ever. And now it's time to make some big changes, hand the wheel to the kids, let them make their mistakes, and look toward the future.

Or the team can decide to hang on to the past and try to somehow squeeze one more ring out of the status quo.

I'd definitely vote for the former.

Now i understand why you do not believe in the warriors 27-12 record - their performance against the west's best teams.

For reference, what's did some other teams do against the west's top 8 (or 10?) in a random 12 game sample? I would imagine it's pretty tough to have a .500 record against the playoff teams in the west, even for other playoff teams in the west. Probably why most of these teams won between 51 and 46 games.
