The future best lineup to start should be:

Baron
Jack
Wright
Al
Beans

Wright is NOT a SF...damnit...

Baron
Jack
Al
Wright
Biendrins

now we're talking.

How?

Unlike at the 4, he can D up against 3's. He has the outside shots. He has good handles. Can't rebound well for a 4 but his rebounding is ok for a SF.

Al is a poor man's Carmelo. He belongs at the 3.

Offensively, sure. Defensively, he would get torched by any halfway decent swingman.

He is much better at defending C's than he is defending 3s... He is not a quick reacting guy, hes not a quick leaper, and he's slow laterally...

What Al is, is strong. So we put him on the block on defense. When he goes out to the perimeter guarding a SF, he becomes a bullfighter...

There's a reason ATL put him at the 4... IND put him at the 4/5... and GS keeps him at the 4. Its not all coincidence ;)

I don't understand how anyone here can have an opinion on what B Wright can and can't do after only 88 minutes of play this season.

I'd settle for having an opinion of what Beans could do if they got him the ball 30 times.

The same way "Power" forward describes Yi Jianlian

I keeed...

He's just overall too slow. Not quick enough reflexes, he used to get torched in IND when he played the 3. ATL was the first team to move him to the 4, and the response was much better for him. No matter where he goes, he's a 4...

Wright is a better fit for the 3 (still a 4 though)... hes a slasher with length. He won't be Tayshaun Prince though, but if the W's ever got him the ball on the block, he could prove to be effective, much like Beans.

I mean Al can shoot better, but thats about it. I cant even imagine Al guarding some of the SF's in this conference :nonono:

Brandan Wright now = SF

Brandan Wright future = PF

Relax Thug, it's just that with his length, athletic ability, and his slight frame, right now he's more of a SF. his length means he can catch up to the faster SF's and post up the smaller ones.

Al has proven to play better against bigs. He can play SF, but has been a better mismatch against bigs.

If you put Beans/ Al/ Wright front line, then you have 2 shot blockers on the floor and still have a big that stretches the defense.

We have yet to put 2 guys on the floor togehter who could constantly provide the htreat of a shot block. So many of the easy shots we see go in game after game, would at least be challenged more once Wright gets in there with Beans. But you'd still need either Al or Barnes to provide the shooting from outside.

Al's a tweener - he can do some things at both the 3 and 4 spots, but is lacking some skills at both.

Hopefully Brandan is not a tweener! With his length, he needs to be around the basket, grabbing boards, changing shots, and scoring from in close.

I'd prefer that, if a young guy is a 4, you play him at the 4. Don't want to see his development potentially hampered because he has to learn one spot then move to another.

ATL played him some at 5 too, in his last season there. The year before that they played Walker some at the 5.

Carlisle played him at the 5 all the time with O'Neal out, too.

That's one reason why Al makes a good 6th man... he can score, plus play at 3-4 different positions. Put him in there for whoever isn't doing well.

first Monta, now BW has the flu.

Rookie forward Brandan Wright, who earned his first NBA start on Friday against New Orleans, did not practice. He was ill with the flu, although it looked like something worse to Nelson, who reported that Wright had "passed out" in the locker room. "I think Al put something in his coffee," Nelson said.

ROFL

"I think I played him too many minutes (Friday)." According to a team spokesman, Wright was actually following the orders of athletic trainer Tom Abdenour; since there wasn't enough room on the training tables, Abdenour told Wright to get some rest in the locker room instead.
