Game #12 Carolina at Tampa

Post#1 » by ohara » Sun Dec 4, 2011 4:53 pm

Hey! We can climb out of the NFC South cellar with a win today. Two young QB's going at it in Josh Freeman and Cam Newton. Both have strong young RB's. Very similar I think. Will be tough to win on the road, but if Carolina plays smart turnover free football, we can win this one. I think the bottom line is turnovers today. Force them - we win. Commit them - we lose.

Strong 1st qtr by Carolina, up 14 - 3. No Josh Freemand for Tampa on offense, and no Aquib Talib on Defense for them. Carolina has a good shot to win this one.

Panthers rolling right now, 31 - 12. Cam has a passing TD and 2 rushing TD's. Tied Steve Grogan forthe most rushing TD's by a QB in a season. And this is only game #!2. Think he'll break the record?

38-12 early in the 4th. Cam gets his 3rd rushing TD, and #13 for the season. Now owns the single season TD rushing record for QB's. And still 4 games to go.

38 - 19. Carolina goes to 4-8 with a 2 game road winning streak. Next, we host the Falcons. Should be a good game.

Newton is something special.

We played great today but against a (now) terrible Tampa team. I think we can win the rematch in a few weeks too.

4-6 wins from last year's record is pretty damn good for a rookie QB, new coach, and slew of injuries to big names. Add a few more pieces, get the LB's healthy, and we could compete for a playoff spot next season. At the very worst win 7-9 games.
