So Plaxico wants to play for the Panthers. I'd take him. Line him up with Smith, heck yes I would. Even if just a 1 year contract. Cam can use a big body receiver out there.

I would definitely take him on a 1 year deal. I'm all for getting weapons for Cam.

Well, it appears it wont happen. In the Charlotte Observer today, it says that team officials, anonymous of course, say that the Panthers have no intention of calling on Plaxico Burress. I guess they are happy with LaFell and Adams as giving Smith enough help and providing Cam with weapons. :(

Im glad we didn't pick up Burress, he seems to be a locker room distraction while also being old, he would be a short term pickup who would push our young guys further down the depth chart...

I agree not getting Plaxico is for the best. He just doesn't add enough at this stage in his career.

Way late but Lofton to NO is crazy.

Good news. Jonathon Stewart announced he intends to resign with Carolina after his current contract runs out. Keeping both Stewart and Williams is a very good plan. Tolbert is insurance in case one goes down to injury or if Stewart simply wants too much money.

On the down side, think Cam made an error with the charging for autographs session. He certainly has all the right to do so, but kinda hurts his image a bit. Charlotte loves him, and a sit down for a few hours to sign autographs for kids is a much better idea. Oh well. Hope it blows over quickly.

With Williams's history I think it's for the best too.

Charging for autographs makes me sad. :(

Raiders trade WR Louis Murphy To Panthers for a 7th rounder. Nice pickup. He led the Raiders in 2010 as a 23 year old. Lost job on depth chart due to injury. But a 7th rounder is nothing to give up for his potential. Like the deal for Carolina. And Armanti Edwards should now be history in Carolina.

And Carolina just sent often injured Jeff Otah to the Jets to recoup that late round pick. Too bad injuries kept Otah off the field. But his knees are totally crap. Dont expect to see him in many Jets games if ever at all. But the risk is worth it for them. A late round pick for someone who had the potential he had as a 1st rounder. Worth the gamble.

Kalil's Super Bowl Guarantee. Talk about some balls! Now, the rest of the team has to rally around him and help back it up.

Nice move by Steve. He has a good heart and understands what these poor people are going through right now.

If the panthers make it through their rediculously tough schedule at 11-5 or better I could see a superbowl in our future for sure.

Otah to Jets deal rescinded. Otah could not pass his physical. He's done.

Thats a shame, Otah was a monster run blocker, our run game was better when he was on the field.

Good stuff about Murphy, shame about Otah.

This season looks hopeful but I'd remain cautious. Having the Saints out of the way isn't the only roadblock... it's a tough conference.

Sad to see Otah released - he was a quality player when he was fit and healthy and I think was well worth the first round pick we used to get him when he was on the field. You cant help injuries, but it will hurt me to see him healthy in a year or two if he manages to get back on the field for another team dominating in the run game.

Releasing Otah does make room for Byron Bell to be named the official starter at RT and it is always a feel good story when undrafted free agents who were over looked by every team are able to make an impact on the league.

Jonathan Stewart ust extended 5 years! Great move by Hurney to keep double trouble in tact for the next several years to help Cam. Very smart move.

Huge signing. I wasn't so sure they wanted to hold onto him after they signed Mike Tolbert. Running game needs to be rejuvenated.

Rookie Josh Norman, 5th rounder from Coastal Carolina, tearing it up at CB. Likely will be our #2 CB, allowing Captain Munnerlyn to play NIckle. This would be good news.

Return to Carolina Panthers
