Right now we have about $80mil in cap with no starting CB, no starting WR, one OLB on the roster, a hole on the interior OL (unless they're starting one of the young guys, in which case need to add depth), and a suspect RT.

Good corners available in the draft and FA, including Fuller.

Who knows if Meredith or White will be good this year. No true #1 guy available in the draft or FA right now. Broncos just said they're keeping Sanders and Thomas. Dez might become available, but he's 30 this year and his injury issues. This position will be a challenge. I would put a lot of time into studying those big receivers in the draft.

A couple guys available early in the draft at oLB. Not a deep draft for it. Nobody really available in FA other than depth guys or guys who need to prove they should start. I personally think Edmunds should probably be the guy for us at #8 unless someone unexpected falls, like Chubb.

At G Nelson is supposedly one of the best prospects in years and is more hihhly touted than DeCastro was a few years ago. I think we will probably move our guys around and add depth later in the draft.

RT can be upgraded, and in my opinion should be.
I would try to get a tackle in round 2 or 3 to compete with Massie.

Definitelybhave to plug the glaring holes in free agency so we can try to go best player available in the draft

CB: first sign Fuller. I'm a little disappointed we didn't sign Amerson, who has already played at pro bowl level before his injury and only signed for one year $2.25mil. Need to also keep Callahan and hopefully add another starter who creates turnovers. (Fuller, ball hawk, Callahan)

WR: I don't see anything in free agency right now especially since Robinson will probably be tagged. Not sure I'd want him anyway because then our top 3 guys would have major leg injury concerns. (Nobody, unless a #1 is cut)

OLB: a free depth guys available. Lynch and Carradine both played for Fangio in SF. Dee Ford from KC had an impressive rookie season plus is a freak athlete, but had a back injury in week 3 and didn't play well last season. Kony Ealy is also a viable option. Need to look to the draft for a starter. I'd go with Ford in FA, most upside. (Dee Ford, plus possibly another guy)

OG/C: I think we will add Zach Fulton from the Chiefs and let the guys compete.

RT: could add James from the Dolphins but he would be expensive, and I don't think Pace wants two RTs making big bucks. (Nobody)

DE: there are a bunch of really good 3-4 DEs available in FA. Richardson and Wilkerson are the top guys. Also a few NT that could allow Goldman to slide out to DE. I would grab one and really make our front 3 monstrous. (Richardson)

Bears are favorites to sign slot receiver A. Wilson from KC. I'm all about it.

Players from the eagles are rumored to be shacking loose in FA. Beau Allen DT, Trey Burton TE, Nigel bradham LB, Patrick Robinson CB

Kyle Fuller got the transition tag. Outside of getting an outlandish offer it looks like he'll remain a Bear. And we definitely need to go all in on Allen Robinson. Robinson and drafting a WR in the 2nd or 4th would go a long way in fixing our WR problems. I feel like the 2nd round will be the sweet spot for WR's. Simultaneously I think that's when a rush of WR's will go off the board. Courtland Sutton, Anthony Miller, Christian Kirk, Equanimious St. Brown. There's value to be had here.

This should probably go in the draft thread but I saw B/R updated poat-combine mock draft today. They have Sutton late 1st, Kirk to the Bears in rnd 2. Miller going in round 4.. And I cant remember where Brown went.

I can't believe Micheal Bennett got traded for a 5th rounder and a WR i've never heard of. I think the seahawks are trying to part ways with outspoken players. Obviously, Sherman is gone but I also think that means Sheldon Richardson is gone as well.

Rappaport tweeted the Bears are closely watching the Sherman situation in Seattle. Sounds like Sherman is a target. Id trade a 7th for him in a second. The achillies is scary but we'll worth the a late rnd pick

He's expected to be cut. I think its best to let that happen and sign him because his cap hit is high for an aging player coming off two Achilles injuries.

I expected them to cut one. No way they cut both. Cobb may be perfect for our system

Cutting both frees up 25 mil. Cutting one frees up ~12.5. Depends on how aggressive they plan to be in FA.

Sherman has been released. The bears haven’t been brought up as an option for him.

Vegas odds has the Bears a favorite to land Sherman. Only the Patriots have better odds.

Is Cobb still relatively fast? Because he would be a good addition.

Rodgers-Cromartie has been cut. Would be a nice and relatively cheap addition

Return to Chicago Bears
