4/11 Game Thread

Post#1 » by kingofthecourt67 » Thu Apr 12, 2007 4:27 am

Game just ended against the Diamondbacks. We won 3-2 surviving some stormy weather in the 9th. Hamilton homered again, Valentin had a 2 run double, and Belisle pitched great allowing only 1 run in the 1st inning. Good win guys. Way to prevent the sweep.

By the way, I look at the board and laugh at the fact that all the threads are game threads. However, I know it's early so we will get some discussions going as the season progresses.

The most interesting thing last night was Narron's benching of Encarnacion for not hustling on a popup. I hope it never is repeated for the young guy and he's now learned.

I wonder if he had done the same if it was Grif or Dunn. I think not. I've seen Griffey not running that hard on pop ups. :wavefinger:

^I heard that Encarnacion didn't even leave the batters box.

True, but do you treat a 20 year (or whatever) sure bet HOFer and treat him like a second year player?

We need Encarnacion to hustle. Grif and Dunn hit balls hard enough that they don't have to. We know that they're not fast enough to get on base if there's an error anyways. Like Epicurus said, you have to treat different types of players different ways.
