David Wrights swing....

Post#1 » by pdxblazers92087 » Fri Apr 27, 2007 2:44 pm

I looked through the forums and didnt notice a thread on everybody's favorite man crush..... Anybody else SLIGHTLY worried about the guys swing. I have 100% faith that he will turn things around but with him being young its got to be getting to his head. Hes also made some really solid contact and the ball just takes a dump right before the wall for one reason or another. Hes also chasing the outside pitch a lot more... God i wish some pitcher would just hang one and get this over with. What do you guys think?

Edit: Then again Soriano and Teixeira havnet hit one out either. So that makes me feel a little better

He is not trying to pull at all. You kidding me? Pull?

He just has a mini uppercut, you can even see it clearly in replays angles.

He will get it Wright.

at least 80% of his hits and outs are both to the left side of the field. and like i said pitchers are throwing the outside fastballs and he cant get around on em resulting in strikeouts from him trying to pull them

gota agree with you there but he does have a little bit of an uppercut swing right now to. I cant wait until he gets it right and Delgado gets out of his mini funk. Then the mets are going to go on a roll.

They need to remove the HR derby, it has clearly hurt Wright and Howard (to a lesser extent).

Seems to me he's just mentally screwed up right now. Hopefully tonight is the night he gets back on track.

It was the Home Run Contest. Look at Bobby Abreu. Same thing. Every since then, these two haven't gottent their power stroke back. No Met should EVER be allowed to participate in that contest again.

Booing him with help those mental issues...
"The guy is an idiot," Pedroia said regarding Cabrera. "I dropped my bat. It kind of freaked me out. I was upset they took him out of the game. He is good to hit. He's 9-15. The guy [stinks]."

I kind of agree - there's too much evidence against the homerun contest, that I think it should be discontinued.
Embiid wanted to win so badly, he deliberately injured Mitchell Robinson.

Classy.

yea but when ryan howard went in the homerun contest he was fine. honestly i really think its just a lack of confidence. after the game yestrday he was just in the dugout just staring into space you can tell this is really affecting him.

You really think that one HR Derby changes a players swing? These guys have been playing since 5 yrs old. Your swing doesn't just change one night.

im not saying i agree with ppl sayin the hr derby messes ppls swing up.. but it could definitely f*ck wit a player mentally(transitioning back to live pitching/thought process on wut your trying to do with the pitch) - i would think?
