Moises Alou to Miss 3-4 Games | Sosa to be called up

Post#1 » by Jose7 » Fri May 4, 2007 7:06 pm

Moises Alou may need a cortisone injection to help ease the pain of a slight tear of the meniscus in his left knee.

"My knee felt unstable and painful," Alou said. "The doctor said I have a little bit of fluid there. I had an MRI the other day and I have a little bit of arthritis and a small little tear in my meniscus." If Alou receives a cortisone injection he will miss three or four games. Endy Chavez or
David Newhan will replace him in the lineup.

Jorge Sosa is expected to be called up to start Saturday's game against the Diamondbacks. Sosa, who is 4-0 with a 1.13 ERA for Triple-A New Orleans, deserved to start last Monday's game more than Chan Ho Park, but Park got the turn due to rotation schedule. Sosa has a little fantasy value in NL-only leagues, but he will likely be returned to Triple-A following Saturday's game. Orlando Hernandez is expected to return from the disabled list next Friday.

Not a major injury for Alou. Also, glad to see Sosa getting called up, he has been great in the Minors.

The Alou injury concerns me a little bit because of his age. If the small tear becomes a big tear, then his career could be done. Lets just hope for the best.

As for Easley, I love the big hr's, but I REALLY love Valentin at 2B. The defensive chemistry he has with Reyes is something special and, I think with Easley at second, our defense takes a major hit. Love the hr's though!

Sosa deserves a shot as it looks like he's gotten a steroid injection after getting bombed in ST with the big club.

Hmmm maybe thats Minaya's secret?

So who goes down when Mota's ready? Like the Knicks - the mets have too many ready for minute players. (Major will probably blow a gasket when he sees that I compared the Knicks to the Mets).
Uh oh. Somebody needs to call Rick Carlisle a whaaambulance.

Mota comes back...probably Burgos goes down.

I really want to see Gotay play with consistent minutes...Love Valentin but he is getting pretty old.

Mota? Who knows if he will be any good? For all we know, it could have been the steroids which turned him into Mariano Rivera at the end of last season. How about this, lets first wait and see if he can actually throw the ball over the plate with decent velocity and movement before we insert him into our bullpen. Also you don't know if there will be any injuries at the time.

Adrian Beltre HR!!!! Mariners coming back on the Stinkies!

Endy going down after the popcorn HR almost made my heart sink. I'm glad he seemed okay though. These injuries might be starting to mount...
