Finnerty signed

The Broncos signed QB Cullen Finnerty last week.

This is a guy Broncos fans will want to root for. You're in trouble if he ever has to actually play in the regular season, but I've seen him play and known him throughout his college career and he's a great guy. He's one of those QBs that loves to throw on the run, goes for the big play every play, never gives up, inspires those around him. At GVSU he went something like 41-2 as a starter and they had huge bullseyes on their jerseys every week, a la Notre Dame.

I favorably compared him to Drew Stanton headed into the 07 draft--some of that is hyperbole but I do believe Finnerty has real skills and can be a capable NFL backup QB. Good signing by Mr. Shanahan, who is now doing everything within the org.

I hope we never have to see him other than in pre-season action

but he seems like a class act.
