Cut this morning, today was the last day before his contract became guaranteed.
I heard Morey was looking for trades Cook/Machado to make room but couldn't find anything.

Maybe LAL sign him and he turns their season around, and we get him back next year...
Or if he clears waivers he can come back and sign for the RGV.

Patrick Beverley still waiting on FIBA clearance, idk why it takes so long. Beverley paid 300k of the 850k buyout clause, Rockets have given him 700k of the 1 million contract they signed him for this year.

Does anyone know much more about him? X-?

Did jwise keep the faith in Machado? Can Machado ever trust jwise again?

Beverley is an attack guard. Pretty athletic. Good size/length. Good at creating driving angles with his dribble. Quick first step. Good at changing speeds. Good defender. Very active. Likes to pressure the ball, play deny/the passing lanes. Improved shooter and playmaker. Can ran basic offensive sets.

Probably not quite as athletic, but he plays somewhat similar to Bledsoe.
I think Morey compared him to a lesser Rondo, which is a solid comparison as well. Better form on his jumper than both Bledsoe and Rondo.

Is he a better fit than Lull?

Euro step ok... but when you watch some much of Harden aka Eurostep King thats to be expected.

UPDATE: Beverley is I guess officially a Rocket, signed and he is at practice today!

He didn't play at the highest level in Europe, but I do believe he was one of the better guards, yes. I think he generally did pretty well against high competition. There certainly are a bunch of guys who are better FIBA players right now, but most of them are older and wouldn't translate to the NBA game as well.

Llull without question is both a better fit and player however IMO.

lol, this Machado appreciation thread has no posts appreciating Machado. Well, I appreciate Machado for being willing to report to D-League and showing up to practices. Guess we can't that for granted anymore. What's probably going to happen is that the Knicks will pick him up, and with Felton out, he will take the world by storm. Then we will resign him next year at 10x the price. :lol:

Supposedly, Beverley is a better defender than Machado. So maybe that's why the Rox made this move.

trade lin, start beverly, move dougie to backup sg, and have machado as the backup pg.......

Awkward... it's like the movie Pearl Harbor when Kate Beckinsale mourns the death of Ben Affleck, then hooks up with Ben's best friend Josh Hartnett. But then it turns out that Ben didn't die after all, and things got really awkward when he returned.

And then it got more complicated when Kate found out she was pregnant with Josh's baby. But then Josh dies in battle, so Ben ends up getting back together with Kate to raise the baby. Not sure how this last part fits in with Machado/Beverly. :lol:
