Exbition game #1

In this game i want to see Kellen Moore play and see what he can do,also would like to see the RB's too.

We need DB's to play better than last year.

Lions 27- Browns 17

Moore will have a chance to showcase his abilities .remember we needed 3 qbs as little as 2 years ago? Having a good 3rd qb can also reap rewards like extra draft picks down the line.

The kid's a winner, simple as that
Our 3rd QB usually plays at some point...historically speaking.

There's going to be some interesting battles for the final spot at each defensive position. I hope we don't overload on keeping too many offensive unit players. I'd rather see the extra bodies competing for defensive depth and maybe we can identify some new solid future contributors.

Will be worth watching the return & special teams coverage units. The Browns are excellent on ST and anyone who stands out against them will help themselves a lot.

Going to the game, can't wait.

I'm just bummed Delmas isn't going to be in the game, I've always liked him for his intensity. Hopefully he gets well soon.

Other than that, I expect a win, with the offense looking good, and the D-line getting after Weeden on a regular basis.

Kellen Moore = practice squad
Why would you put Kellen Moore on the practice squad if you think he does not have it? Thats for guys you think have a future. Not so sure. There are NFL quarterbacks who are touch passers who lack great arm strenght. He did not get a lot of help. I would like to see him play again. I also thought Keiland Williams played well.

It is hard to evaluate sometimes if you are watching guys playing agains scrubs who will be onthe street in two weekis. The first exhibit game is always the sloppiest. The lamest thing is that they charge money to see it.

Haven't seen it yet, but here's what I gathered from Twitter:
--run blocking was superb, and Reiff was very good in extended duty at LT
--Titus Young missed the game due to birth of a child
--reserve DBs are real green
--Kellen Moore was embarrassing
--sayonara Terrence Tolliver
--Fairley and Young played very well together
--Bentley extremely unhappy with his burnage TD, went straight to his coaches and wanted to know what he missed. Good sign.

Quote=Kellen Moore was embarrassing

From what i seen yesterday we need a new 3rd string QB

Maybe we can pick up a QB at the waiver wire?

the only positives about this game is the RB 's they ran for almost 200 yds

jeez Kell giving up on your boy after one preseason game?

I think it is pretty clear we will dress 2 QBs every game this season barring an injury, just like last year. This shouldn't be very surprising

Wow I thought Kellen Moore played a great game. In the last full drive he had he made a beautiful touch pass on a rollout play, showing that he can move if need be to buy time and he still has a deadly accurate arm. His throws all day were very precise. We punted on our last possession only because our coaching staff decided to do some conservative running plays to run out the clock and it didn't work out, and when he threw a pass right on the money on 3rd down the ball was dropped. They took the ball out of his hands and gave him only a couple of plays to make a pass and he made the pass each time. He may not have blown my mind but I thought he did an admirable job in his very first preseason game and with considering everyone thinks he's a joke and he has a weak arm, yet he still went out and did a good job in making the most out of the situation and what he had to work with. I don't propose we keep 3 QBs on the roster so that's probably a moot point; we just don't have room to consider keeping him.

TSE did you notice his passes were very soft ,like a high school pass it would be easy to intercept. He looks so small behind the offensive line that he gets lost.
At the start he did not look serious(smiling ,laughing) just having fun so i don't think his mind was where it should have been.
I wish he could become a great Q.B. but as of right now i do not see it.I have watched other back up Q.Bs. do great on their teams this preseason i am still waiting to see that in Moore.

Staffords hard bullet passes spoiled me i guess.

Let's give him a pass in this game and see what he does next, hopefully he will take it to the next level and then i will be on the bandwagon again.

Yeah his passes are a little weak, so he should try sticking with the short game where he is very precise. That's what I was thinking was to give him a pass until we see the rest of the preseason games, unless we have some other QB prospect to play around with for the second half of these games. He could try some deep balls if he was actually playing with Calvin Johnson so that it would make sense to do more of the aggressive deep passes for the times it makes sense to take those shots, at least theoretically if we ever were to put him in an actual game. I don't see how that is likely to occur unless we trade away Hill.

We should ask the Dolphins if they want Burleson, why not take a good reliable guy like Nate to replace Chad Whatshisname??

Six-time Pro Bowl receiver Chad Johnson was released Sunday night by the Miami Dolphins, about 24 hours after he was arrested in a domestic battery case involving his wife, a person familiar with the decision said

You don't have to trade nate, chad is free to sign with anyone but i think the lions are tired of jail birds, since they released 2 players.

I would trade Nate for anyone ,as long as they throw in a bag of chips.
