Icness wrote:The thinking with Clowney is that he would play right end and Ansah would move to left end. His run defense as a rookie says that Ansah could be outstanding on that side, Clowney more of a dynamic pass rusher at the more premium right side.

Ansah can also slide inside on passing downs and they could use a rush LB from the later rounds, or Whitehead/Hepburn from the current roster, at OLB/end hybrid in nickel packages.

Reportedly the focus is on the 3rd pick. Which in last years draft only cost a 2nd round pick to move from 12th to 3rd(which is underselling). Personally i think if 1 of mack or Clowney is there at #3 we'll move up. While i know there's been huge talk about watkins, fact of the matter is that evans would be a good consolation prize, not to mention moving up to #7 would not cost as much. Its really going to depend on many QB's are drafted.

Personally the uncertainty about C. Houston's toe IMO is making the decision to trade down a much easier decision. Trade down, draft Denard or Gilbert, Pick up an extra 3rd rounder, trade 1 of the 3rd and 4th round pick to get back in to the 2nd and draft a SS/WR. Use our next picks on a (3rd)DE/C(4th)/QB(4th).

QUESTION:

IF we trade Suh, what sort of compensation would we be looking at? is there any chance it would a first round pick?

We aren't trading Suh and as Jeff has said recently, we aren't trading the 2nd round pick. Maybe we could send a 3/4 and the 10 pick to move up a few slots to grab someone interesting, but I seriously doubt we jump into the top-5

I'm still hoping to move back honestly

No disrespect to jeff but he's also just makign a informed guess based on his sources. Our FO could very well be setting up a smoke screen. and its been reported

2 teams that had conversations about moving into the Top 5 the last few days: The #Lions & #Bills. As of now 1 exec said they want a bargain

Also Jeff stated there's less than 1% we trade suh, the curious thing about it is that he didn't completely shut it down indicating there is a minimal chance it happens. Due to that fact, i'm just wondering what would we be looking at?

As i stated in my last post, w houstons injury, i think trading back makes the most sense. Especially since we could get a starting CB and get picks which we need. There's so much value in round 1-3, that we could address multiple needs w productive players in 1 draft.

Also Brandon Flowers is on the block, what would the price tag of him be?

Looks like Watkins is really high on the wish list.

http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap200000 ... is-serious

Jaguars among the list of suitors apparently.

The prospect of Megatron, Tate, Bush/Bell and Watkins with Stafford throwing it to em is ridiculous to even think about

problem is to get him we'd have to sacrifice picks that would improve our defense. We have Stafford, Megatron, Pettigrew, Tate, Bush, Bell, Fauria. If Watkins really is the x factor that will take us to the super bowl, then we are paying a lot of money for nothing on the offensive side of the ball.

Then you consider that this draft class is extremely deep at WR, makes very little sense to move up and lose assets. Now a argument can be made for losing a 4th rounder and possible 3rd to move up to 7 and grab Evans.

Hearing rumors of the Cowboys REALLY wanting DT Donald in this draft.

I'd like to trade down with them at #16.

#10 for #16 and their 2nd rounder. They get DT Donald, we get Denard or Gilbert and an additional 2nd rounder..

If any of y'all are from West MI, I'll be at Uccello's in Caledonia (just off M-6 by the airport) with ESPN 96.1 tonight. Stop out and say hi, tell me you know me from here and I've got a round or two for you.

Trade up!

Get either Watkins or Clowney.

No to trading down. The Lions had like 1 pro bowler last year. They need more top end talent, not more depth.

Clowney would make this D-Line unstoppable. Watkins would make this offense unstoppable. If you have a chance to make any side of the ball unstoppable, you have to do it. Trading that dominance just to keep a 2nd round pick, or pick up an extra middle tier 1st round talent makes no sense to me.

Do the best you can to trade up for one of those guys and if you can't take BPA at 10.

It's finally here, draft day.

I think I'm going to watch it from the gym so that when the Lions trade a ton of picks to get Watkins I can use that rage as fuel

Should be a wild ride this year, especially with the fluidity around where the QBs will go.

If I didn't have to work tomorrow, I would absolutely come over. Especially given that I live in GR. Have fun homie

My prediction tonight: Barr or Ebron
