If one person can wreck it, that’s sort of indicative of the whole system being ****.

How bad are the other qb's if he's the best lol

there's only one other scholarship QB, and he's a true freshman.
They really should have strived to get someone through the portal (other than Caleb Williams, who was only a dream).

Since Barry Alvarez's first winning season, the Badgers have only had two losing seasons, and not since 2001 (Ohio State had a losing record as recently as 2011).
Really, it's been a tremendous run for a team that can't attract many top players. Is this just a speed bump, or will we be irrelevant for a few years?

Not really , Chryst was the guy entrusted to keep the train rolling , making all the decisions , he couldn't keep up with the current landscape of CF and now we are behind . whoever takes over will have some work to do . saying that though the cupboard isn't bare , fairly young ream this year and as long as we don't lose a bunch of players to the transfer portal we should be okay. Mertz really needs to step up though .

Hopefully Leonhard embraces the transfer portal.

The funny thing is, the "moar recruiting" guys are the culprits.

We upped our recruiting game and did well (star-wise) in 2019-2021.

Mertz is actually not THE problem right now, everyone would take a borderline 5-star QB QB over again. Not really complaining.

Logan Brown (5-star T) - bust/kicked off.
Markus Allen (4-star WR) - supposedly a bit of a drama queen, didn't crack the top WR group - gone
Jalen Berger (4-star RB) - headcase, gone. He's meh for MSU, not losing sleep over that.

Oddly enough, we needed some try-hard preferred walk-ons from Grantsburg or Palmyra-Eagle or whatever to turn into NFL linebackers instead of the 4-star guys.

The worst unit on the team is entirely built from transfers. They'll obviously have to do it over again - but they lost the majority of the defensive backfield to graduation last year and every transfer they got, supposed to be solid, blow.

The other issue is breaking in some new ILBs and guys opposite Herbig at OLB - don't generate enough pressure to take some of the workload off of the DBs as in recent years. Exposes the huge weakness back there.

It's a down year but Badger games are still fun. It's homecoming and the weather is supposed to be in the 60's.
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Ill be there hunting for Gard telling him to play Milwaukee next year. Mid 60s will be nice for it though.
