If he's kicked his addiction, I'd love to give him a shot on our roster again.

He's suspended indefinitely. He'll never play in the NFL again. On the other hand if you told me he'd be out of jail in half a year, I'd never have believed you.

Why do you say there's no chance he'll every play in the NFL again? Vick can go to jail for 2 years for murdering dogs and comeback and be a face of the league but you think there's no chance Goddell restates a guy who had a drug problem if he actually got clean? I'd love to see him back, it would be a great story. I think there's at least a chance.

I know he's suspended indefinitely. But, he can ask for reinstatement, and if he's kicked his addiction, then I don't see why Goodell shouldn't reinstate him in the future.

Today's Blind Items - The Greatest Celebrity Sex Tape Ever

In the past week, all the NFL teams had mini-camps, but the biggest talk among the players on one team was not about their new teams or the upcoming season, but what is being called the greatest celebrity sex tape ever. Apparently this former A+ list Tweener not named Miley or one of the Cheetah Girls made a sex tape with this newly drafted NFL player. The player who went to school in California was talking about how he had dated this Tweener and someone said prove it and out comes a full 15 minute video on his iPad. The next thing you know every player was gathered around this iPad and there was almost complete silence for the full 15 minutes. Afterwards, the noise was deafening and players begged to watch it again. For the entire mini-camp all anyone could talk about was the sex tape and what exactly goes on during it.

The Packers 1st rounder was from USC...just sayin

Vick had two things going for him.

The first was that he's a first time offender, and the second was that he was a huge name who brings in a ton of cash to the league.

Jolly is a Multi time offender and nobody cares about him.

OVERVIEW OF THE POLICY AND PROGRAM

FOR SUBSTANCES OF ABUSE

WHAT IS COVERED BY THE POLICY?

-- The illegal use of drugs and the abuse of prescription drugs, over-the-counter drugs,
and alcohol.
WHAT SUBSTANCES OF ABUSE ARE PROHIBITED?
-- Cocaine, Marijuana, Amphetamines, Opioids and Opiates, PCP and MDMA (Ecstasy),
and any other substances required by the Medical Director.
WHO CAN BE TESTED AND WHEN?
-- If you are looking to sign a contract with a club and were not under contract with a
club on the date of the last game of the previous season and have not been tested in
the prior four months, you may be tested by the Medical Advisor.
-- If you are under contract with a club, you will be tested once between April 20 and
August 9.
-- You will be tested while you are in the Intervention Program.
-- You and your club MAY agree to testing under the NFL’s program.
HOW MUCH TIME DO YOU HAVE TO PRODUCE A SPECIMEN?
-- Four (4) hours from the time you are initially notified.
WHAT IS A POSITIVE TEST OR THE EQUIVALENT OF A POSITIVE TEST?
-- A specimen containing a prohibited substance above levels stated in the Policy.

-- Failure or refusal to appear for required testing.

-- Failure to cooperate fully with testing.

-- Providing a dilute specimen under circumstances set forth in the Policy.

-- Engaging in a deliberate effort to substitute or adulterate a specimen or a test result
or engage in prohibited doping methods.

HOW DO YOU ENTER THE INTERVENTION STAGES?

-- You can enter Stage One of the Intervention Program if you: (1) have a positive test
or the equivalent thereof; (2) exhibit behavior exhibiting physical, behavioral or
psychological signs or symptoms of misuse of substances of abuse; or (3) refer
yourself to the program.
14

WHAT OCCURS IN THE INTERVENTION STAGES?

-- Stage One: You are evaluated by medical personnel to determine whether you
require an appropriate clinical treatment plan or whether you should be dismissed
from the Intervention Program (only applicable to behavior admissions). If you are
not required to have a treatment plan, you will be subject to testing only.
-- Stage Two: If not dismissed in Stage One, the Medical Director will notify you of
your advancement to Stage Two. In Stage Two you must comply with your
Treatment Plan, if you have one. Also you are subject to unannounced testing up to
10 times per month. You also will be subject to further medical evaluation.
-- Stage Three: You will be advanced to Stage Three if you have two Positive Tests,
two other violations of your Treatment Plan or the Policy, or combination of both.
You must comply with your Treatment Plan and will be tested up to 10 times per
month.
-- Banishment: If you are in Stage Three and fail to comply with the terms of your
Treatment Plan in the Policy, you will be banished from the League.

HOW LONG DO YOU REMAIN IN THE INTERVENTION STAGES?

- Stage One: Generally 90 days.
- Stage Two: 24 months or 2 full seasons, whichever is shorter, from entry
into Stage Two or from a violation.
- Stage Three: The remainder of your career.
- Banishment: A minimum of one year.

WHAT ARE THE CONSEQUENCES OF A VIOLATION IN THE INTERVENTION
STAGES?

-- Stage One: Three-seventeenths (3/17) of the amount in Paragraph 5 of your NFL
Player Contract.
-- Stage Two: 1st violation: 4/17 of the amount in Paragraph 5 of your NFL Player
Contract (or a 4-game suspension if you did not successfully complete Stage One).
2nd violation: 4-game suspension (or a 6-game suspension if you were suspended for
your first violation in Stage Two).
-- Stage Three: Banishment.

If you have any questions, talk to Dr. Lawrence Brown, the NFL Medical Advisor for the
Policy and Program for Substances of Abuse, or to your trainer, Player Development
Director or Club Physician.

This is the health and safety section on drug addiction. I'm pretty sure Jolly is facing a 4/6 game suspension on the drug policy alone. Not including criminal behavior that Goodell frowns upon.

Yeah forget about Jolly contributing to the Packers again. That ship sailed after the third arrest and more than likely the second.

Well, according to that policy, he's already been banished for a couple years and could be eligible for reinstatement if he's following his treatment program, etc. But my guess is they'll wait another year before considering it. Give him the opportunity to establish his treatment program on the outside.

I don't think he's eligible for the NFL treatment program, so it will be hard for him to get reinstated.

Jolly suffered from an addiction. He's not a hardened criminal. It would do him well to be part of an NFL schedule to keep himself clean. Losing his support system probably contributed to this in the first place.

Would he really be suspended for more than a year?

He's under 30 and doesn't have a ton of wear/tear on his body. I would love to see him as a guy who comes back next year.

Banishment is a minimum of one year, which he's already done. Minimum suggests that it's not necessarily infinite. Whatever he has to do to get reinstated, it seems to me that he's at least eligible to apply. He can provide evidence of his reform that doesn't necessarily adhere to an NFL Treatment Program he can't access.

I don't see any reason why the NFL would bar his reinstatement. The conditions of his parole are much more harsh than what the NFL would impose.

As for is he reformed, it is never an easy answer with drug problems. However, getting released waaaaaay earlier than expected means at least the jail system thinks he will change.

We'll see...

From WT, apparently Tebow really does think he's Jesus, as he's now filing lawsuits on His behalf.

I care less about the money than I do the fact he'd be taking up a roster spot I'm not sure we have.

I honestly thought Driver had a big impact in the second half of the season. Also, you are talking about a roster spot for guys who didn't even get drafted. Yes, the other guys have more potential but I would rather take the veteran presence and productivity this year than a guys who has a slight chance to be a 2/3 WR.

I'd rather have a guy who may be dominance on special teams like Gurley.

What if you're taking away the WR version of Tramon Williams?

If what's coming out of Green Bay is true, than Tori Gurley looked a man among boys at Mini Camp.
