They traded their 2nd for 23. Consensus is they need to give up 11/23/next year's 1st to go Top 3.

Wrong. He did it to pursue base ball and grow a Hitler mustache.

Donald said last year his body can't hold up much. This isn't a Barry Sanders like retirement, this is a "I have enough money, I won a Superbowl, and I am not going to put my body through this anymore."

I’m confident that Hitler stash was a lost bet too. Can you imagine when he showed up to a Hanes t shirt commercial rocking the Adolf? They probably pressured him to get rid of it but he was like ‘but they said they’d kill my dad if I shaved’

Might be trying to preserve some brain cells too.

I always thought it was weird at the time that guy that appeared as smart as rodgers kept saying he wanted to play until 40+. Like nah, I will take my 9-figures and walk. Guess Rodgers was crazier than we thought at the time.

I think Mike did it on his own volition. Just another tragic mis-appraisal of aesthetics c.f. his longstanding fashion adventures with oversized denim.

Raise that price.

Everyone in the top 3 needs a QB. Unless Arizona isn't high on MHJ (don't see them passing on him unless a overpay) there really isn't a trading partner for them till the Chargers at 5 and that pick could turn into a bidding war between the Vikings, Giants and Denver

QBs are so protected now.

The trench guys have that cranial impact essentially every play.

Another of my drumbeats: as players get progressively bigger and much faster, the violence of collision goes up. It's basic physics.

I think Chargers will take the Vikings deal. If they can't get Marvin Harrison Jr. then they trade down acquiring picks and try to find weapons in the draft that way.

At that point it comes down to do you value Malik Nabers/Odunze or trade down and end up with #11 on Bowers, #23 on OL or Adonai Mitchell and get a future first.

I personally like Bowers than any WR after MHJ so that's an easy yes for me.

I love MHJr, Odunze, and Nabers. But if I'm Arizona I'm shopping the hell out of that pick.

Good call. At this point it will be pretty shocking if McCarthy isn't a Viking.

Would be pretty funny if Vikings get 5, only to have Arizona trade down and JJ going 4. Granted the Vikings trade may be dependent on who is available when Vikings are picking

I assumed the Vikings the operating under the assumption they have to get up to #4 (or higher).

I think that's probably the trade too unless Denver or the Giants decide they wanna make a play themselves.

Was more or less just saying that if they wanted to get to the top 3 they're gonna have to go well above the value chart since every one of those teams also need a QB so there really isn't a trading partner for them in the top 3

I understand the intrigue with McCarthy, but the "door number 2" effect can only justify so much. There is plenty of room for him to improve and still not justify a top-5 pick, so even if you're drafting him based on optimistic projections, you shouldn't be drafting him on the absolute best-case scenario.

You're underestimating McCarthy. I have his draft comp being Andrew Luck. I think if he had stuck around one more season he would be a lock to go #1-1. He's really got everything you want in a QB prospect, just not the volume.

I don't know how anyone can watch the McCarthy tape and convince themselves that the arm talent and accuracy isn't a massive question mark. I'll be personally ecstatic if/when the Vikings mortgage all their draft capital for him or Drake Maye. I'd only be worried if they somehow traded up for Daniels.
