Sauce wasn't the first CB taken last year.

Even worse, he probably would've drafted Derek Stingley Jr. had the Jets picked 3rd instead of 4th.

Funny that all of the players from Rodgers's wish list are signing with the Jets after he told everyone that wish list didn't exist.

But for the re-work of his contract, would Bahktiari have been another? Or, too big of the CAP price tag?

Tackle is by far the Jets biggest need. I have to think it's explored again since NY missed out on one in the draft.

It’s going to be really fun watching the trainwreck that is the Jets this year.

Their opponents are pretty rough. I think they'll be favorites in 10 games at most.

Jets win total is 9.5. I'm betting the under
I'm against picketing but I don't know how to show it.

Kinda surprised anyone feels confident in the Jets being over .500 with how brutal that division is gonna be. They're definitely not better than Buffalo and I'd probably put them behind Miami still, although Tua's health is always a question mark. And of course you can never count out Belichik when he has a Top-10 defense.

The Packers should wait and hope that Bakhtiari starts the season strong while the Jets struggle with protection. Even though Bakhtiari finished last season strong, I think it might be selling a bit low if they try to trade him before he proves he's completely healthy again this year. Granted, this could be their last chance to trade him for anything if the knee injury resurfaces, but it's worth the risk IMO.

I guess it depends on what we'd get back for him, but I'm not sure I'd want to help the Jets and hurt the pick they already owe us.

Very good point.

What about if it's something like this: "Currently we own you a 2nd, that can become a 1st. We give you our 1st and 2nd, no conditions."... That works for me.

It's honestly a good question and I'm not sure what I think. I think the Jets are a .500ish team next season with the potential to be something like 6-11. I don't think I would pass up that potential by solving their biggest weakness.

A win-now team that desperately needs him will give up more for Bakhtiari though. Any anticipated effect on the pick can be used to negotiate a better deal, just like any other trade negotiation can take into account the expected value to each party. And what if Bakh wants to join Rodgers and agrees to restructure his deal with the Jets to make it work, but not with anyone else?

It's all about the return, but I don't think it's at all far-fetched that the Jets could easily make it worth their while.

If the jets offered a no conditions 1st and 2nd next year for including Bakhtiari, I am doing it. Injuries are such a crapshoot that the Packers could ended up with 4 top 50 picks next year.

The Jets play over half of their games on some type of turf. Probably wouldn't be great for Bakhtiari's knee.

Can they even trade Bakh? Thought his contract wasn’t really movable until next year

Well, according to Spotrac if we trade him, his cap hit will be 19M this year and an extra 19M next year for us. Currently it's 21M and 40M, so I assume that for the other team it will be around 2M this year and 21M next year.

I am no specialist, but I think it shall work like this, so he would be super cheap this year for the other team and next year it would be fair (if he is playing).
