Sure he can play but it's the index finger and the tip of his thumb and middle finger of his dominant hand, and you have to wonder how much nerve damage as well. He's simply not going to be as effective, but sure he can still play. I had a buddy that damaged the nerve in his thumb, had no feeling in it at all. He cut and smashed it all the time without realizing it and he said his grip just wasn't ever the same because of it.

Yeah, you can play with the club (or less fingers), but there are several things that it definitely doesn't help for.
-RB running outside just outside of your reach trying to arm tackle.
-QB escaping the pocket.
-Grabbing the OL to read which way the back is going on the outside and shedding the block.
-Catching the ball if you are going up to deflect it or a screen pass drops into your lap.

Will he be useless? No, probably not. But that's a handful (pun intended) of plays that you can't make - and that's a pretty big difference.

I would characterize that as more than a missing thumb tip. Most of the thumb seems to be gone. I don't see where the interphalangeal joint would be. I hope he does a "Don't **** Around with Explosives" PSA.

My friend had an accident and lost his index finger. He couldn't play any sports for a while or run they had to let it heal. Luckily it was his left hand not his right. He's going to start playing sports again this fall. He hurt it in March and couldn't for a few months Dr orders.

I'm sure he'll torch us for 400 yards and 4 TD's because I'm saying this but Peyton Manning is done. That dude just can't throw anymore.

Yeah, not that I'm some huge Manning fan, but this is actually frustrating to watch.

Imagine if you were a Broncos fan watching him lob these passes in. Khris Davis has a better arm than Manning at this point.

Does he have the weakest arm in football? It is CRAZY to see him put his whole body behind throws that travel ~15 yards and look like they were lofted in.

I don't even want to think about that. I felt sick after watching super bowl 48 and I wasn't even cheering for the broncos

I was kinda ranting about this on Twitter and such: how the **** does an NFL franchise hire Kubiak and let him impose that offense on Peyton?

They were playing to all of Peyton's weaknesses. They go back to a quick shotgun offense and suddenly it's just a slightly watered down version of what he used to do with Denver.

Taking an immobile, afraid to take a hit, weak-armed QB into a dropback game with rollouts involved and allowing tons of man coverage where the ball needs to be zipped in. Unbelievably stupid. Let the guy dissect the defense out of the hurry up shotgun and hit WRs in space.

They rolled him out once and he whiffed a wide open receiver because a defender was running at Manning.

I fear for Manning's long term health on many of these snaps.

Granted Charles is their biggest threat but I agree. The chances of breaking a long run, especially when the Broncos know your passing game is **** isn't likely. Just take the knee and head to OT if you plan on running.
